I could have searched the world and never found a better group of kind, loving, supportive, most special friends.

Thanks for your posts, they helped me realize I am not alone and appreciate the place I am in, at this time in my life.

As I stated, my heart and emotions have been extremely challenged since last week. Parts of it are getting better, other parts are so stressful. {My fil is facing some extremely serious health problems, I am his strength right now, he is a totally different personality than my mil. He told me tonight how much he loves me and appreciates my help}. I will do anything to help him, he was a dad to me when my own dad couldn't and wouldn't be one. We have fun together, laugh and cry together. Sometimes he can be a TOOT, and others a real honey! When we stop for a bite to eat, I don't tell anyone he had a Patty Melt amd fries, and he doesn't tell anyone I had 3 huge slices of French Toast, loaded with butter and syrup with 4 peices of bacon on the side! {Equalactin and Lactaid take good care of me, most of the time!} He is facing his 2nd major surgery, he had a cancerous kidney removed 2mo. ago, and almost bled to death!
Now, he has an abdominal aneurism. He just told me yesterday that no matter how the tests he is having tomorrow turn out, he doesn't want to have another surgery, he will continue to live out his life with the aneurism. What do you say to someone at 81 yrs, in poor health? I just told him it was his decision, and I would stand beside him whatever the outcome. We talked about people having this problem for years with no problems, I think he just wants to be one of those people, he has had enough. And, thats ok. I really don't think he can make it through another major surgery.

Tomorrow is going to be a hard day for us, rising very early, with a 2hour drive ahead of us, the procedure last for 5 hours. I'll probably sneak off and have a nice French Toast breakfast as I wait, Depending on the condition of my tummy and gut!!!!! May just be looking for some rice!!!!! hahahahha

This is just a smidge of the things that are plagueing me now, I know it is all going to get better, and some of it will resolve itself!! I am so thankful I have such a supportive place to come when it gets overwhelming!!

I thank all of you SWEETIES again !! I luvv yawlll !!

Take care of yourself ok! I'm glad that you are here and feeling good about it! Good luck tomorrow. I'll remember you in my prayers!

And I hope your tummy is doing good enough for some french toast, I love that stuff too!!

Take care!

Hi Gayla,

I hope everything goes alright for you today with your FIL going for more tests.

He is full of spunk and that's probably what keeps him going. I'm glad you want to abide by his wishes that if he doesn't want more surgery to let him just live out his life as HE wants to. I also believe when one reaches a certain age that they shouldn't be forced into doing something they don't want and believe no matter how hard it is for US that they have their rights too. I know you feel the same way.

Just let him be happy every day that he is still with you as I try to do with my mom.

You know my thoughts and prayers are with you that all the things you're going through will be over soon so that you can have some peace of mind.

Thank goodness for the GK, Grandma, as I know they put the happiness in your life when you're feeling down and out.

Take care and know my thoughts are with you,

Pat
