Hi Nadine,
Yes, just adding to what Heather Robin already said, has your son been tested for any other problems? Has everything else been ruled out? Because IBS is only diagnosed when this has been done.

Honestly and unfortunately, I do not have kids. I do know kids personally who have suffered such problems though But has your child been officially diagnosed with IBS?

Other possibilties:
Lactose intolerance
Dairy allergies
Stomach disorders such as bacteria problems

Best of luck!

If you post in the "eating For IBS" board, then Heather will see it - she doesn't come chat here very often. i think she's had IBS since she was seven, so I guess she's our "IBS-kid" expert!

Do you have Heather's books?

I have a 5 year old daughter who was diagnosed with IBS. I would love to chat with you and share my experience. I usually only check the Maryland Support Group Board so you can either post there (if you want a quick response). Otherwise, I will try to check this board too. Hope I can help.

This board is for general chatting, so stick around! If you'vre got IBS/diet questions, then the "Eating For IBS" board is the place to go.

Not many of us check out the Support group boards, so you'll get more responses here.

Boo bear, do you know Jen? I know she also knew of someone who had a young child with IBS and wanted them to maybe contact each other??

That was me! I met with Jen last night and she asked me if I would respond.

Ah ha! So you're one of these MD strangers! Glad you're not a stranger no more.

If you did a post on the "Eating..." board, Heather might pick up on it. She's had IBS since she was seven.
