Hi Guys! Another newby here! I was diagnosed with IBS about 8 years ago by my GP, and medication and watching what I would eat worked for a long time. Lately none of the medications work and everything triggers either C or D. I went to a GI yesterday and he put me on Robinul Forte and Benefiber (I've only done Metamucil and Citricel). He wants to check my thyroid because I take SSKI for my allergies and he said that is also used to treat your thyroid (he wants to rule out any problems there). I also have my very first colonoscopy scheduled for July 14. I'm hoping that things can only get better from here!

you will do fine when the time comes.good luck an god bless you for doing it.getting ready for it is the hardest thing but you are in your home so you can sat on that pot all day.
you may get a ring around the butt.but that is ok to.

Welcome to the boards! I think you will probably find lots of helpful information here, and everyone is very supportive and understanding. Good luck with the new meds and fiber, and then with your colonoscopy. I hope you start to feel better soon!

Two?? Robinul Forte? What does it do?
SSKI for allergies, I've never heard of it, is this the generic name? I take allegra. Thanks gayla

ROBINUL FORTE slows the activity of the stomach and intestinal tract, thus relieving cramping and reducing acid secretion. It is used in the treatment of peptic ulcers.
SSKI is an iodine based medicine. I take five drops in juice or water every morning to use as an expectorant. I also take Allegra.
I also take Nexium for my acid reflux. Sometimes I feel like a walking pharmacy.
