work frustration......

......I'm so frustrated with how things are going here at work lately I can hardly stand it. I can't even get motivated to do a good job. I spend most of my time thinking of or doing other things and am not focused on doing my job. That isn't good....nobody else here seems to care whether we are doing a good job...why should I? I know that's the wrong attitude, but even my employer has a $#!@@! attitude. How can the employees get motivated when the employer isn't?! Just like now....my supervisor spent 2 hours in a "supervisors meeting" this morning and then came back to my department and said that our department was getting blamed for not getting projects out quick enough! I said "how can they say that when our "in" boxes and "out" boxes are usually always empty!? Then my supervisor takes off and leaves to buy his son a cell phone. Meanwhile while he is gone a press operator came and asked me a question about a job he is set to run and only my supervisor can answer the question. I'm not familiar with the status of the job in question. But he is out shopping!!!! and has been for about an hour now!!!!! on the clock because he is salaried!!!!! Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!! How can I get motivated to do a good job? It's so frustrating! I don't even want to come to work anymore...I could be more productive at home.

thanks for listening......

How much longer will you be working? It doesn't sound like there's much of a future for you with this job of yours. Can you update your resume and "get it out there"?

Until the BIG boss catches your boss in his sloppy work habits and fires him, you're stuck having to make excuses for the work not getting done. If you don't want to continue as you have been, then you need to get out there and pound the pavement.

Sounds like it's time....

Nugget, so sorry to hear how frustrating work is right now. I stayed in a job that drove me nuts because 1) inertia is a major force in my life! 2) finding a new job is scary, and 3) I didn't have the moral strength to walk away from the paycheck, which was substantial.

So I totally relate and sympathize.

I totally relate! I work in the twilight zone!!!! I've been trying to escape for over a year now, but live in a tiny town with not a lot of opportunity. I'm trying to leave, and have to believe one day I will. Hang in there! It really gets rough, doesn't it! If it makes you feel any better, you are not alone!

i think that a job i had about 5 years ago and the one i'm in now both contributed to my IBS, and i know the one i'm in now is making my fibro worse.

MAYBE BECAUSE I'M SO FRIGGIN' BORED!?!!?!??!!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

oh, excuse me....

um... anyway, i think it's important to ditch jobs that make you miserable. i did 5 years ago and felt SO much better. it's only within recent months that this one has gotten so intolerable and i'm working on getting the heck out!

all that stress is so bad for you... and really, even if the money is good, is money that worth it? maybe for some people it is (you'd think i were one of them considering my fantasy shopping spree yesterday!), and i know certainly an amount in a necessity, but i have (finally) come to the conclusion that there is no dollar amount that is equal to my health (including my happiness).

so there.

now, if only we could all go win the lottery or stumble into our dream jobs.....

....I am having terrible D attacks this morning and can't get away from the bathroom. I called work to say I was running late and would be there as soon as I could.

I agree that I need to find a different job, but there's not much opportunity that pays well in my field in this town and hubby and I don't want to move away. Our families and our lives are here. I've gotten spoiled with this employer because he is so laid back as far as rules go and yet, that is his biggest problem. Everyone takes advantage of that and it is getting the company in trouble. When I first started working there, we had a very strict manager. The company made money....he retired, rules and management changed and the company hasn't made money since.....

gotta go!!!! literally!!!! be back.......

I'm sorry your so frustrated and unhappy at this job.... there is nothing worse for your health either. I wish you luck in finding another job near by in the same price bracket so your family can stay put. But you REALLY can't put yourself through this day after day..... you know that right?

I second that. I think work related stress made my IBS MUCH worse, maybe even caused it! And I HATED the job! But I quit, 2 weeks ago, and life is good....except I'm broke. LoL.
