Having a really bad day

I feel like I'm going nuts! I have a rotten cold, PMS and no energy. I feel like I'm crazy today. I'm in a really bad mood. I've been very on edge with my kids. Almost anything they do makes me nuts. I broke down and cried to my mom on the phone and now I just feel bad for getting so upset. I feel really bad because I have gotten mad at my kids for dumb little things. But I just have blown up today!

I'm so tired! I need a vacation! But, I never feel good enough to do that either.

Sorry everyone I'm having a pitty party! I just feel like crap and my tummy is acting up. I feel desperate. I have so much to do around my house and that's stressing me out! I wish I could just go off to a 5 star hotel for the weekend all by myself Yeah, right like that's going to happen!!!

Ok, I just had to vent a little! I think I'll try to get some fresh air and sunshine today. Gosh I even thought about going tanning. I know its bad for my skin...but it might do my brain some good!!!

Thanks everyone!!!

Steph, it's hormones, nothing more. Well, the cold is something else, but all that other stuff? Hormones.

I'm ready to stop taking HRT, after having been on it all my life. Well, I had to take it when I was a little girl and they discovered something seriously wrong with me (but that's another story!). I've spent many years trying to get my hormones under control, and it's been a real struggle, believe me. (Again, another story.)

Anywho.... I'm gonna be 60 soon. It's time to stop taking this estrogen. Besides, I don't like one of its side effects. For one thing, it does nothing for me as far as "the bedroom," if you get my drift. But what it does is really awful. I have extremely sensitive nipples (I apologize if I'm offending anyone here); my boobs get very tender and sore, such that I can't stand to be touched even a tiny bit, and even holding my puppy hurts. Also (again, my apologies), my areola is black and scaly.

Okay, more info than you need -- sorry --

I want off the stuff, so I stopped taking it about a week ago. My boobs have stopped being quite so tender; I didn't jump out of my skin when hubby gently reached for them the other day, the blackness is scaling off, and my nipples are no longer sore. That's the good news.

Now, the bad: I'm EXTREMELY sensitive! Jen's post yesterday about her diagnosis sent me off into a crying spell, and I can't stop. I'm doing it now. I hate this. This happened to me some 20 years ago. Anyone look at me and smile, and I'd break out in a crying fit. And depression? Oy! The depression! I was outa control.

Well, I can feel the depression coming back; it's not real bad right now but I get waves of it. I refuse to go back on the Wellbutrin.

I'm determined to shake this. I figure I'm taking in more soy than anything else in my diet. Soy is supposed to be almost the same as estrogen, right? That's what I heard. So I'm just waiting for it to kick in.

Okay, sorry about my rambling. I got off on a tangent, didn't I? I meant to tell you that I know what you're going through; your post sounded exactly like I feel right now. (Okay, so maybe my depression has a little more to do with the age thing, but I have to get over it because there's not a damn thing I can do about it.)

I gotta go...

I'm sorry, Steph. I have the cold you have and it does make you want to cry...it's not just you. My friend called me and told me that she had it and no matter how much she slept she still felt like sleeping..but she's better now. I get so emotional when I get sick so don't even feel bad. I'm SO sorry Steph. Really. Don't feel badly about crying. Just tell your kids that you have a cold and that you are sorry if you seem impatient (or a little kid word for impatient) but you don't feel well and you just need to rest so you can have fun with them soon... because if you can't rest then you won't be able to play with them soon. And then maybe tell them to think about what they want for dinner or something (i don't know what time it is where you live) so your husband can pick it up on his way home (if you think your husband will want what they want ) I wish I coould deliver you some IBS friendly food right now (soup? tea? rice? does anything sound appetizing?) and clean your house for you and do everything for you because the other day I wished someone could do that for me. Poor Steph! Okay..yesterday my sister was down in the dumps and I told her this thing I read in a meditation bookk that i posted somewhere else on here and it REALLY cheered her up. She said it was the nicest thing anyone had said to her in a long time. Ok. So during his meditation, some monk realized that God put people on Earth so He could have people to love. So see...You're loved. You're here for a reason. See, Steph! (Sorry if you aren't religious/are a different religion..i don't know much aobut religion and want to learn a lot more..sorry if i seem ignorant!). So feel better, okay! And always remember why you're here!

I hope you feel better. Crying is not fun. When you finally stop you feel better (well..your head hurts worse) but you're not sad. My friends and I would joke that why girls' cliques at school are more exclusive than boys' has to do with hormones too Anyhow I'm really sorry and I'm sending you rays of sunshine to go through your skin and warm your soul

Steph, honey, sorry you're having a bad day. We should have an honorary pity party plaque that we can pass around to whoever needs it that day, like a talking stick? So you get for today, but who knows, I might need it tomorrow. Hopefully, we all won't need it the same day!!

And as far as tanning, my dermatologist is one of the best in the city and she has articles all over her office wall about how a SMALL amount of sun is not only okay but beneficial. How else can we make our Vitamin D?! And for me, it is truly relaxing. I must be part lizard! Just wear a little sunscreen and don't feel ONE BIT guilty!!

I shouldn't have said anything. It's just hormones, nothing more. In my next life, I'm coming back as a MALE.
