I have just joined the message board. I am actually traveling in China on business and my IBS is acting up pretty badly. I am taking long car rides, and getting nervous every time we leave. I am taking a lot of Immodium to ensure I do not get an attack. I am so tired of feeling this way! Anyone have some words of advice?

Hey there! What a situation to be in with IBS!
First, a warning: don't take TOO much Immodium. You really don't want to be hospitalised with a bowel bloackage! Lecture over.
Try and eat just soluble fibre - noodles are great, just try and have them plain or with something REALLY simple like grilled fish. Avoid vegetables. Don't even touch caffeine! Avoid dairy. Green tea's better than black and might help, but take it easy as I think it's still cafeinated. If you can get it, drink peppermint or chamomile tea. Or if you can't, warm water is better than nothing!
Good luck!
Btw, have you been properly diagnosed (ie. colonsocopy et al)?

Its good that you came to this website. There is a lot of information here that can help you. I don't know if you are able to get it when you are traveling, but plain white bread, plain bagels, apple sauce, baked chicken, bananas, mangoes, pretzels, the herbal teas, water, citracil help me. best of luck!!
