Oh, yes it did

It was premeditated. I was the closing manager for a Burger King back in 1992......one of the guys was MY FORMER manager.... and my S.O. & I at the time had been to his house and even hung out together. Anyway, it was closing shift and they were inside the lobby (my mistake) they were waiting for two of my employees (well, not really) to get off work and they were all gonna go out. Note: it was a husband and wife and the wife was my girlfriend since grad school. Anyway.... we were going to leave and the brother of the guy I knew pulled out a steak knife...I thought he was kidding. WELL, he was not!! He took the husband & wife and one other guy (who is probably at war now) into one of the bathrooms while the brother that I knew took me to the back office (I did not know he had a BUTCHER KNIFE in his coat until later). I emptied the safe.... he was saying his brother was MAKING him do it. He told me to sit down, but I did not.....I was pissed. I turned my back for a second to remove my ring thing he was take it and when I was putting it into my purse.... he stabbed me in the back. I WAS FIGHTING LIKE HELL.... he pushed me down, I was kicking and screaming for my friends but nobody came to help. He was stabbing me over and over again.....(over 20+ times) So, I grabbed the blade of the knife and kept fighting........I WON... I got the knife and chased him....as he was yelling to his brother....DO THEM DO THEM...SHE HAS MY KNIFE!!....I went into my office, locked the door....called 911...and watch the brothers run out the back door. The other came running in..... I was ready to faint by this time..... lucky my girlfriend KNEW the parents phone number and she called them. I did not know if I was going to live or die..... I was taken in the ambulance......(blood spurting everywhere). I was taked to the best trama center and cared for...... I'M ALIVE and the bastards are in jail.... at least for a few more years!!

It happened in 1992...

I was in the hospital for just a few days....

Lots of stitches and and biggest ones (two that kind of connected) and made one BIG ONE..on my left breast..were pack and healed from the inside out....hard to explain...my Mom had to remove the gauze each day and put sulfur (the stuff in matches) inside with like BIG cotton swabs....she is a nurse, but HATED doing it do her daughter....I would cry and yell every time.

I had fractured ribs so I could not lay down all the way or I would not be able to breath....I slept in my grandfather's old lazy boy (note: about 4 years ago I got tattoo on my chest on the other side of the scars now.... has angel wings that are my grandfather....I was thinking of him when I was in the ambulance).

Then later I had radiation treatment on my chest and on my forehead (I still to this day can't feel anything around the scars on my forehead) and it caused some hairs not to grow back in again. BUT I'M ALIVE!!

I have flashbacks and really get emotional, and turn my head every time I see knives on TV or in movies......but then I remember what I did...and then a snap out of it and turn proud!

Well, I still live in the same state.... and their family is not too far from me. There is a restraining order for LIFE...... but I figure they were stupid enough to really think they were gonna get away with it (KILLING 4 PEOPLE).... I don't give them enough credit to plan any revenge...beside...it was not against me personally, I just happen to be the manager working the night they ran out of beer & drug money!! I guess that $500 bucks a head was worth the next 17 years(yeah only 17) of their lives being locked up!!

Actually....right now...they are serving time in a Las Vegas.....and we are going for Las Vegas IBS Fall Sprawl in Oct.... so.... I FEEL EVEN STRONGER NOW!!

i'm sorry you've been sick for all the recent ones!? maybe you'll be nice and strong for the next one!?

(when i have something like that coming up that "traditionally" makes me sick, you wanna know my secret to surviving it? i go back to "what to eat when you can't eat anything" for a few days before it (3 or even 4) so that i'm uber-stable!)

Thanks Tara... and don't worry. My luck with horrible roommates is legendary. There's very little possibility you'll do as well.

And as for the Upper GI... it wasn't bad. I just slept peacefully through the whole thing and came home and crashed. Not a very exciting birthday, but not as unfortunate as your test sounded.

Thanks for your kind words Bevrs..... it was sure one freaky story.... but the best thing is that in the end I WON!!

YES, there are lots of residuals.... don't get me wrong....I'm able to get on with my life...but there are those times when I start thinking about it and just start crying uncontrollably... but then...I snap out of it and realize what I did and how far I have come. I still turn my head when I see a knife on TV or in a movie. And if someone does not know what happened to me...i.e. at a birthday party or something where the cake needs to be cut..... I watch that knife move from the hand of each person that it passes until I feel that I'm safe and it is put away. STRANGE? Or just caution? I don't know??

I have a BIG scar on my chest (left breast).... some in my ears, my temples, forehead, small of my back, fingers.

The ones on my chest prevented me from getting a low cut wedding dress and it itches....due to my skin type those were never "stitched" and then they turned into keloid scars (causing a ripples and white texture), the one on my back itches and burns (nerves I think) from time to time....mostly when I'm workin out...I don't know why it does it. I posted above about my forehead in detail....

Glad you are coming to visit Virginia Beach:) Which website did you check out? I can post some pictures of the area and recommend some websites. Do you know what places you want to visit?
Well letmesee, the boardwalk is really nice. Virginia Beach isn't a big city. In fact, the closest towns are 30-45 minutes away depending on traffic & if you use the highway. I like the fact that it isn't a big city bcos it gives it a small town effect. I've lived here since I was 4 years old, so I see people I know at the grocery or mall. My favorite spots to visit are: MacArthur Mall (Norfolk-- check out this nearby city if you can bcos it has a lot to offer like Nauticus and museums & great restaurants too), the beach & boardwalk (during the summer we have concerts especially 4th of July it gets packed), Virginia Marine Science Museum (they offer dolphin watching cruises and there is also a salt marsh boat cruise which is cheap and relaxing) and the museum is fun too, Lynnhaven Mall, Verizon Wireless concerts at the amphitheater, we have ice hockey/field hockey/ and soccer complexes, Farmers Market (neat little place), and Mount Trash Moore- park. The nearby towns also have festivals, concerts, shows, etc. Down at the beach which we sometimes call The Oceanfront, there is jet skiing, parasailing, and people play volley ball, fish, and picnic on the beach. You can also rent bikes too. During the summer there will be a little amusement park located on 15th street I think. For food: there's a lot that I haven't even been to yet around town & located on Pacific Ave. Besides the Oceanfront, there is also Sandbridge beach that is less populated and equally serene. Near Sandbridge is a nature preserve. We have lighthouses to visit too. 2 hours away is Williamsburg which has historic spots & Bush Gardens theme park. Nearby Richmond also has a theme park which is fun & its the states capitol. Have a great time on your visit!!

Well, I went to my hotel's website, and it showed some the popular spots in the city. I really can't wait to get out to the beach because it looks so beautiful! I went there once when I was 5 or 6, but all I really remember was my little toy boat getting washed away into the ocean

lol. We weren't going to go until the very end of August in hopes of avoiding a big crowd. Think it'll work? A lot of those places that you mentioned sound really awesome! I'm taking my friend Rachel along and she likes museums and things, so I'll check some of those things out as well. Thanks for all your suggestions!

I can't imagine what you went through. But my sis went through something very similar. She was robbed at knifepoint at her job. Unfortunately the guy was never caught and she still has nightmares.

I take classes at TCC too, this semester I took them online but before that I went to classes at the school. I think Chesapeake is very nice, I live in Great Bridge if you know where that is. We go to NC a lot bc most parts are nicer that VA Beach, ya know?

hi again,

pre-ibs i took traditional classes at tcc. but once i've had this, i've switched to online classes too. its much easier for me. i have online classes this semester. i'm glad we only have a few more weeks left. great bridge, is that where the central library is located? i'm sure i've been in that area. chesapeake is a great city:) yah, i liked driving through north carolina on my trips down south to florida and the outer banks which was amazing. those are real beach towns.

I lived in Hampton for just over 4 years and loved it!!!! (Compliments of the USAF)

I was at Williamsburg all the time.........especially on a Sunday with the blue law and nothing being open locally.

If I could live anywhere it would be Okracoke.....end of the Outer Banks. Of couse I'd have to live out of a suitcase, and be ready to leave in a minute's notice, with the weather the way it is.

Your story sounds like something out of a movie! I'm glad that you were the hero and that you're (for the most part) alright. I don't think it's strange about the knife thing. I'd probably do the exact same thing!

Thanks Peaches..... It was a movie I was glad to see that there would not be a sequel (sp?) to!! If there was.....it would be called "Shell Opens Up A Can Of Whoop A*S"!!
