With Easter soon approaching, I was curious how people spend this time eg family, friends, church, vacations etc...

We spend our time with family. My mom lives a block away and my hubbys are less than a mile away. So we usualy wake up let the kids go get their easter baskets. Hang out a while and then go to church! Then we usually go to my moms for a Easter dinner! The day before we have an easter egg hunt! Its lots of fun!

I love Easter! Spring time is my favorite time!

I don't usually get to do too much for Easter, the place where I work is 24/7 365 days a year so I normally work a good portion of the weekend, but hopefully this year I'll get to go home to see my family briefly (they live about an hour away).
Also on the topic of Easter, this is my first Easter following the IBS diet (and therefore no chocolate) and I must admit I'm getting pretty depressed seeing all the Easter candy out there. I'm a big sucker for Cadbury Mini-Eggs! Does anyone know if after a soluble fiber meal it might be ok to have a small easter treat? Are there any ones out there that are better than others?
Thanks!
Kelly

I think they must be available world wide, but if not, take a look...........there is a FAQ section too. Best off all, they are IBS safe but also full of sugar
Peeps This isn't the official web site, but a good-enough one...

Hopefully our own Miss JenX will see this post and answer for you; she's a chocolatier, and we get all our excellent chocolate advice from her. She said just a few days ago that, if you're gonna have chocolate, and if it's CHOCOLATE that you really love (and not that butter-fatty white stuff that isn't chocolate at all), pass on the Hershey's and find a good Godiva truffle -- just ONE truffle -- and make sure it's dark chocolate, not MILK chocolate.

I think that's excellent advice. I'm going to try to find me one -- ONE -- dark chocolate Godiva truffle for Easter. I know, I know, I'm on a sugaaaaa-free diet, but for Easter I'm gonna splurge on ONE.

Hey, if Heather can have a Hershey's kiss every day, I can have a truffle once a year.

My agent, Bev, has made my statement for me.

I have nothing else to add.

(Mmmm... chocolate!)

Kelly, I cheat sometimes when it comes to chocolate! Heather said it was okay to have a tiny bit after a soluble fiber meal, so that's exactly what I do. Lately I've been having one mini Cadberry caramel egg after dinner every night. The whole ones are too big for me... but the minis are perfect! It's all about having it in tiny portions... as long as you're careful it should be okay to have an occassional Easter treat!

We normally spend it with family/friends and I like to go to the Easter Service on Sunday morning. Plus we have so much fun watching our son look for the eggs the "Easter Bunny" left.

This year though we will be in Bali and our son is already saying "I wonder if the Easter Bunny will find me there?"

Wow, Bali! Have a great time!!

I got so wrapped up in the chocolate question I forgot to say what I do for Easter, lol. I always go to church with my mom in the morning. For most of my life we went to my grandmother's for Easter dinner, but this past Summer she went into assisted living and sold her house. Last year she was sick and living with my aunt and uncle at Eastertime, so I think we went to their house. I'm assuming that's what we'll be doing again, but I haven't heard. I have to admit, though, it's weird to think that I won't be going to my grandma's. I have so many memories of coloring Easter eggs with my cousins there and eating dinner around her dining room table. I guess it's time to make NEW traditions, right?

Every year, my mom's side of the family has a huge Easter Egg hunt. We have a huge family so it's chaos everywhere!

This will be my first family event with my boyfriend, and actually works out perfect as my family likes to call this event "the test" for significant others. Might be because there are 20 kids under the age of 10 running around the backyard looking for easter eggs filled with candy; 30+ adults are scrambling around the backyard looking for eggs with clues in them that will lead them to the jackpot egg (which is only really $20.. LOL); and my grandpa is running around in a giant bunny costume that my mom sewed for him!

Chaotic, eh?
