Sometimes I feel as if I'm talking to myself. I don't feel that anyone here is really listening to anything I'm saying. I feel like the outsider and there is this little clique of people that only talk to each other.
I wish it weren't this way, but I'm only being honest

I can relate better to someone when I can see them! Not that I'm saying I don't respond to people who don't have pics...it just easier to remember people and there posts!!! I hope you feel better about things! Feel free to e-mail me!! Its in my profile.

Yes, I did email Heather my pic a few days ago, but people were telling me that it can take up to a week for her to put it up because she has tons of email.
I really, really can't wait until it's up!!!
Thanks again!

Hey Melissa!

sorry you feel that way. but yes, you're totally right. there is a special 'cool' group of people on these boards. It's just like highschool, first you have to pay us your lunch money for a week, and then after initiation we'll decide if you're cool enough. Although, there's this new group called the 'losers' starting up, so I don't know about that

But seriously, sorry to hear you feel that way. The people on these boards are really really nice and I don't think it's on purpose and if you stick around a bit I'm sure you'll feel happier.

Melissa, I too am sorry you feel that way. However, I remember responding to your posts several times. You know how I can remember? Because I had such a hard time typing "geminiminimmcm."

If I missed one of your posts, I apologize -- however, there's just no way any of us can keep up with ALL of the posts! I spend WAAAAAAY too much time on these boards as it is -- hubby is always on my case about it, and I've developed a terrible crick in my neck from holding it onto this dumb monitor.

And have you read several posts in here about difficulties some of us are having with spotting new posts? Many times I come into the boards, and nothing is highlighted. I can't figure out why, but it happens too often, and it's at these times that I've missed several posts for me that others later asked me about -- why did I not answer them? I just didn't see the posts!

Please don't take anyone missing a post of yours as a slight on our part; it is not intended, believe me. This is a great group of caring people who get along amazingly well -- YOU INCLUDED, my friend!

Hey Melissa! Glad everyone made you feel better.

And if there's anything you asked or said that no one responded to, bump it back up to the top. Sometimes things get buried and it might get missed. We're all here to "listen" anytime.

I wanted to tell you anyway, I read your profile the other day, and I just thought it was funny that my name is Melissa and my fiance's is Chris also. My little sister dubbed us "ChrisMiss" (from nickname Missy - I have too many names! ) way back when we first started dating. She cracks me up.

OH! That is weird..another Chris and Melissa. I actually did a search for everything that said "chris and Melissa" and there are a TON of wedding websites about Chris and Melissas getting married.
I always thought your name was Maggie, because of the "Mags" thing. What does that stand for?

It was just a nickname my mom gave me when I was little. She used to call me Maggie May or Mags. Back when I first started on the boards, I didn't want to use my real name. I'm super shy, and well, using Mags just made me feel better at the time. No one calls me that except on here. I'm usually Melissa, sometimes Missy.

Gemini, I'm sorry you feel that way too! I know when I first came to the boards it did take a while to get to know people, like it does everywhere, but I still felt like everyone was very welcoming and always willing to listen. I truly believe everyone feels the same way about you, and if we all missed a post somehow it wasn't at all intentional! Keep coming to the boards and I promise you'll get to know us and that no one will exclude you from their "group". There are some amazing people here... just give them a chance!

Better, thank you. I was a bad girl yesterday, so today I threw a U.S. Rowing tape in the VCR and jumped on the rowing machine, pulled my brains out for a good 5,000 meters, trying to keep up with the rowers on the tape -- GROAN --

Oh, and (you'll love this) no sugaaaaa! (So far.)

Hi, Melissa!
I'm fairly new here myself, but I wanted to welcome you here, in case I haven't already. I felt very welcomed from the beginning, even though I didn't hear from everyone on the boards when I first started posting. But, there's just no way that everyone could possibly reply to every post. I can't imagine having enough time for that! Have you ever had a post to everyone that didn't get a reply? I can't hardly imagine that either! If there is a clique, it includes anyone who wants to be a part of it, as I think they welcome everyone and you just need to keep posting. Afterall, they've known each other longer and have built relationships here. It takes time, but pretty soon you'll be right in the mix of it all!! StephS is right about the picture; it really does help to remember who goes with what name! I hope you're feeling better about things.

Ah, Bev, your confidence in me is amusing, my friend!

I was TERRIBLE this weekend. Friday I went insane and had too much (safe) Chinese food for lunch, then drank five (5!!!) Cosmopolitans and ate a laaaaate dinner of sushi (that had fried shrimp in it. SOOooooooooooooooo good, but soooooooooo wrong!) 'cause my best friend was busy flirting and we didn't want to leave to eat. Had to find an all-night sushi place. Saturday, got up. So far so good. Had my smoothie, so that was good. Then it all went to hell! Went to get a pedicure (AHhhhhh!) and had sushi for "lunch." At 6PM. Ha. Ate the same sushi I had the night before. (We took a friend who wanted to try it) Had a great sake + chambord drink (Ahhhhh! ).

Today... well, I resolve to do better! Sadly, I'm behind schedule. It's 12:16 and I'm just getting my breakfast. We're having a birthday party for my brother tonight, which will be good 'cause I can hardly eat anything that's being made!

The GREAT news is... I didn't have many issues with my stomach from all this cheating. The bad news is... I just remembered how much I love to drink the occasional glass of alcohol (YIKES! Calories, calories, calories!).

PS: I owe you big time!!!!! Thank you for repeatedly mentioning Equalactin! You're such an admirer of the product that I had to seek it out. I've been using it for 2 weeks as needed, and I love it. I think it's the only thing that got me through the weekend intact.

WHAT THE HECK IS A RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MARTINI??!??!!? That sounds AMAZING. Please tell me what's in it!!! I need to know! Is this something that any old bartender is going ot knbow how to make if I ask for it?

Ok... I can't remember exactly what's in them, and no I don't think any old bartender could make them. I think it's raspberry vodka, chambord, and Godiva chocolate liqour. That's my guess. We make raspberry martinis at home sometimes with pureed raspberries, rasp. vodka, and chambord... and I think adding chocolate seems like a good idea.

And no fears, I'm jealous that you drank 5 cosmos... not chastizing you. Though I guess I should be.

Nah, we rip on you enough, it's fair that you dish it out back!!!

The martinis are terrific. Perhaps I shall have to whip some up for us at the big Vegas party. In the meantime, they have some that are out of this world good at the Cheesecake Factory if you have one of those in town. Just make sure the waiter doesn't even bring the cheesecake menu to your table.

Also, Mags, what is a vampire?

I wasn't good this weekend either. I had thursday til saturday off. On thursday I had some not so healthy food combined with a few drinks in the evening. It was a good night though, ended up going to 'Foxy Boxing' at this seedy bar with a whole bunch of people (no, not a strip club). I didn't feel so hot the next day though.

Okay, you really got me drooling over those raspberry martinis... and since I got some Chamboard for Christmas that's burning a hole in my kitchen floor, I decided to look for the recipe online. I found a page FULL of raspberry martini recipes... the raspberry torte sounds like a lot like what you describes. Ooh la la, I'll be trying one of these soon!

Sweet Kree!! That page is AWESOME. They've got the raspberry truffle recipie and everything! The only thing I would suggest is that if you have big martini glasses (and we do) cut it with some raspberry puree, or raspberry koolaid or something. Otherwise they get a bit... out of hand.

I'm definitely going to try. Eric gets to keep all his frequent flyer miles because he travels all the time. So I should have a free ticket. And what is Vegas without martinis?

Also, thanks for the vampire recipie. I don't like cranberries though... too tart for me. But I'm with you on the Chambord. Even the bottle is cool.

I'm supposed to be "the one who hardly drinks!" That's the girl I've always been! Now that I look different, with the short hair, I'm going to become someone different! The girl who lusts after chambord drinks....and can't just say "no!"

Except for Miss Show-off Bev! "Nanner nanner" indeed!

I think Vegas is sounding more and more fun... too bad we're all going to be sick for weeks after!

Jamie....'Foxy Boxing' sounds sketchy!!!

I think that's ALL they serve in seedy bars, Bev!

I can't exactly go in askin' for my Cosmo, can I!? I used to be a beer drinker, but they use that damn wheat in beer... so that's out now. Guess I may take up the Jack or get me a taste for plain vodka!

It WAS sketchy. And foxy wouldn't have been the adjective I would have used to describe the combatants. Not to be mean, but those were some big scary ladies

I'm laughing just picturing it!

Now was this your idea, going to Foxy Boxing??

Dag... I wish they had something crazy like that here! I would love to go and laugh my butt off!

Yeah... I can't do beer either. Or wine. Seedy bars are out for me.
