Joanmarie,,,,,,,,Aren't you a sweetheart for remembering!

Thank you EVERYONE for your wonderful Birthday wishes!!!!! I didn't realize how fun this would be until becoming the recipient myself!!!

Kristen, What, no graphic cake with the dancing candles? I was so looking forward to it!!! That's ok, I'll take wishes from a gal from my home town any day, any way!!! Also, Sun Devil Girl…love ya!……..Camp Verde? Really? Do you admit that to many people? (just kidding)

Oh my, some of you have way, way to good a memory………………..

Britney pants, with a navel piercing? Me, say that? Well, guess I did, but you know, that's OUT now….. Hubby said he'd prefer the Paris Hilton look! Geez…what these men don't want……….Unfortunately IBS turned the washboard abs to dashboard abs complete with inflated airbags, so I look more like Prego Paris----the entire city!

Bev, you're dead wrong………………I'm only 99 today. You know what they say, "Payback's a B*", You just wait dah---ling, you'll get yours!! I look at it this way, the good news is we get senior discounts, the bad news is we don't get a govt. check for it yet.

What I really truly WANT to know from all of you………..help me out here, ok?.............Is why this board has such DROP DEAD GEORGEOUS WOMEN ON IT? Never, ever have I seen such a collection of pictures of such beautiful members. I'm blown over, really. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on good looks and IBS?

Besides being beautiful looking, you all are so beautiful inside---supportive, caring, giving, loving---------all Dim Sums….which means, "Little Jewels That Tug at your Heart"!!! Thank you, each of you, for being a special, individual, priceless JEWEL.

Kandee

Peaches, check out this site: web page . I don't remember if they have the banana, but they have a ton of smileys! If you want to use one you just right click on it and go to "properties". Then you highlight the web address and paste it into the URL box here. Does that make any sense?

"Imagine link"? Kree didn't say nothin' about no "imagine link." She said, "If you want to use one you just right click on it and go to 'properties'. Then you highlight the web address and past it into the URL box here." That's what I did.

Okay, lets back up. Tell me please EXACTLY how you did that. Bear in mind that I'm computer illiterate -- I can't even understand "Computers For Dummies."

I tried to add an image to my thank you reply to you and you can see the little box up in the corner, but no graphic. I pulled it from an off-the-wall web site that had cute moving thank yous. I do believe it wouldn't let you do what I tried to do since it said (I found out to late) do not access our server for the graphics. Now how did they do that? I didn't know they could, did you?

That little dancing banana...........well, if you've downloaded smiley central (and the banana is there) to use in email you CANNOT pull any of them to use in a post, since now they are on your hard drive----bummer.

Way to go Peaches! I'm so glad I could help. Here's another smiley site I really like: web page. You have to click on the "smilie" link on the left. It's a little tough to find things because it's in German, but it has some cute stuff, especially in the Party and Essen (eating) categories!

I just remembered, I'm almost certain that site I just posted the link to has the banana! All you have to do is wade through the German to find it!

Another question: Suppose I want to insert an "image" right here, right now, as I'm typing. Where do I go? Do I get out of the "reply" mode, out of the boards entirely, and go into the internet to find the URL address? Then back onto the boards?

I usually open another internet explorer because I don't want to get out of what I'm doing in this one! I'm pretty sure that would work with all browsers. Then once you have the URL copied you can just come back here and paste it!

You said, "I usually open another internet explorer because I don't want to get out of what I'm doing in this one! I'm pretty sure that would work with all browsers." Believe it or not, Kree, I don't know how to do that. I'm on the internet right now, so how do I "open another internet explorer"?

As I said, I'm computer challenged.

If you take it off a site that changes daily, it might "dissapear" (box with red x) from your post when they take it off their site. So some one who may only look at posts once a week may not see your image.

I'm not sorry at all. We're going to get you straightened out here! Okay, so what is your operating system, Windows? How do you usually open your browser for the first time? Do you have an icon on your screen that you click on? Because you can minimize this browser without getting rid of it by clicking on the little bar up by the right hand corner (near the X you'd use to close it). If you do that you should be able to see your desktop, and then you can just click on the Internet Explorer icon and open another one! If you want to switch back and forth between the 2 you have open, you can do that by clicking on the boxes on the taskbar down near the bottom of your screen. For example, there's a little box there now on mine that says "Heather's Irritable Bo...", so I know if I click on that it will put the browser with this web page on top. So you can open the browser for the images, copy them, and then come back to this browser window that way. Does that make any sense?? I'm so sorry if I'm confusing you, it's so hard to explain without actually showing you!

Did you ask Heather to show you how to post? I don't think Heather comes into this board; I've never seen her post anything here -- so she won't find your request, Gerry.

If you want to post a message, first of all you go into that board (see the list up above the green bar). Then there's a bar in that board that says, "POST" -- you click that and it opens up for you to post a message. You fill out the "Subject" and then click an icon, if you want, and then go down to the "Post" area, and type in your message. Below the message you can add an "instant graemlin" if you want, then go down to "Continue." Then it will prompt you to previous your post -- just to check for typos and errors -- then you click "continue" and bingo bango you're in business!

Come on, Gerry, you keep talking about how old you are. You're not that old. My hubby is your age -- it's a good age. He's got a head on him, someone who has it all together -- and it sounds like you do too. Okay, so we don't know computer stuff, so what? We know lots of other good stuff, don't we? Hubby keeps me sane, he tells me when I've "lost it" -- and tonite he told me he likes how I've changed since I've done the hypno tapes. A youngster wouldn't have the insight to notice.

If you could go back in time, would you REALLY? Think about it.

you really made me think today about me being old, just 3 years back I was working in a 7-11 store.doing really hard work like fulling the cooler puting away, cases after cases
of beer, pop.milk, juices, candy, mopping the floor.an I was the oldest one working there.but I felt good I was working an meeting people which I love.would give anything to be able to do that again.but this last 2-3 years I came down sick could hardy get out of bed ,first they took my gall bladder out.an then all the test I had for 2 years, yes there some days I really do feel old, there are times I don,t even want to get out of bed ,but I make myself.an I probably am the oldest one on this board.so when I say I,m old ,there are days I feel really old.I,m use to walking an runing but no more, can,t even walk down the street that I don,t get tired, god I would give any thing to be like I was a few years back,Gerry

My apologies, Gerry, for making you think about being old. I was hoping to encourage you, to make you stop and think about how nice it is to "have a head on your shoulders" after so many years. I guess my attempt was lame, and I do apologize.

The age thing is hard for all of us -- we all have to come to grips with it -- and I can see that hubby has his bad moments; come November he'll be 70, and I really am worrying about how I'm going to help him through it -- especially now, because I'm obviously not very good at it.

Don is a wonderful man who occasionally drives a van for a convalescent center, helping handicapped elderly people. He's terrific at it, and they all love him and appreciate his efforts very much. He used to drive a van for mentally and physically challenged children, and they felt the same about him, sending him incredibly touching cards with their pictures and sentiments on them -- they used to just tear me apart. He has so much to offer people, and so do you, Gerry. Please keep up that wonderful sense of humor of yours -- and also accept my apologies?

Your friend, Bev

Gerry, I'm also sorry you're feeling old! I'm not sure how old you are, but I've seen my grandmother go through what you're describing and lose the ability to do the things she used to enjoy and I know how tough it can be. I guess in situations like that it's sometimes hard to count our blessings, but that's what we have to do to keep from despairing. I mean, just think, you can still come talk to us wonderful people, right? Hey, I'm trying.

I can't believe this initial post went from sane to zany in a matter of 99 posts! Didn't it all start with happy birthday then go to a dancing banana? (Some of us DID "go bananas" for a while there.) Ah, and then we graduated to the smileys and learning curves and aging (sigh) and Arnie and posteriors and mad cows and tests and more learning. Can you all just imagine what it would be like if we all were in a real living room? Good thing we can't drink!

I would like to comment to you one and all but that would make this post even more ridiculously long….so will just "get off the stage" and tell you I appreciate each and every one of you and your well wishes and comments and humor, and yes, even a jab here and there.

I'll end with something I read in my fortune cookie lately that seems extremely apropos…. . It's fast becoming one of my favorite sayings:

"A friend is the gift you give yourself"

Friends, thank you again and love to you all, Kandee
