I don't think it's an IBS thing. I never pee during the day -- never have either. But at night ALL NIGHT LONG every two hours, like clockwork! I actually set my probiotic-taking time by it. I get up at midnight, take a pee, then take the priobiotic. Then get up again at 2, then again at 4, and so on. It stops when I eat something.

And that's what I think is the trigger for me -- what I'm eating. I notice I will go during the day (very surprisingly!) IF I have something different for breakfast than I usually have -- cereal instead of eggs, waffles instead of toast -- it doesn't matter, it's the CHANGE. I won't go all day until I go to bed. Drives me CRAZY! Sometimes it keeps me awake because once I get up my mind begins to work and I can't get back to sleep!

I wonder if water-retaining salt fluctuations in my diet is to blame, such that when I stop eating (like going to bed), I stop taking in salt, thus allowing my body to let go of the water? Just a thought.

I'm glad it has gotten better (fewer peeing trips) because tomorrow is "ice fishing day"!

I forced myself not to drink much after dinner last night and I only got up once in the night. Didn't sleep very well, though.

Thanks for all your support and insight. Glad to know I'm not the only one. And glad to know that it's just one of those IBS thingys.....

I have also been peeing alot...I was blaming it on all the water I was drinking, however there may be something to it

Have fun fishing....I may also go ice fishing tomorrow (if I get lots of school work done!)

Good luck with your fishing as well! Are you going ice fishing? How is the fishing up there in Canada where you are? I've been to the Yukon (Whitehorse when I was very young) and Victoria, BC (in 1995). Beautiful! We went to Butchart (sp?) Gardens.

The fishing is awsome here, if you know where to go....right now we catch mostly speckled trout and smelt (small fish but yummy, you can catch over 100 smelt in a couple hours)...but the best fishing is in the summer, so fun (but one drawback is the flies!)

This isn't where I first saw it, but here is another site that mentions it as a symptom:

I think that I know what MAY be an answer here! My 9 year old (and myself too) are ALWAYS having to go pee. I didn't think too much about it for me but finally decided to take her to the doctor. She has had problems with constipation since she was born!!! Anyway, the doc took x-rays of her tummy and you could see the buildup in her poor tummy of poo and she was so constipated that the doctor said that this was also causing the frequent urge to urinate-it's the pressure that the constipation puts on the bladder!! Isn't it terrible that we have to have so many symptoms all at once! At least I know what my problem is too now! I hate that my poor baby has to go through this too and I'm trying to learn all I can so she doesn't have to suffer the rest of her life!

Nugget and Rosiechica....I LOVE your pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too pee all the time. My doc asks me to do a urin smaple every time I'm in his office cause I pee so much. Now I can tell him it's just my IBS!

I love how these topics come up here....they make me feel so normal!

Thanks for this great post Nugget!
