No way. I already ordered it, Girlfriend! Now I'm expecting the same results! Hey -- did you see the commercial on TV about the guy dating the lady who told him she loves pilates -- and he replied, "Oh, I LOVE drinking those!"

WOW! What did I start!?!? It was just an innocent question, "what's pilates?" and what a thread we've ended up with! I had NO IDEA there would be so many supporters out there -- only one dissenter (but wouldn't you know, it would be KK!) Hey! Wait a minute -- whaddya mean by that, "I'm starting small" --???

Well, for a crusade to introduce the world... three people in three years is not that impressive.

Sign me up! I'm doing a 6 week ab and butt workout. I just
started my third week (intermediate). It's working out
very well for me and it's just a total of 6 minutes for
the stomach and 10 for the butt and theigh. I'm amazed
at how great its working. It's a Denise Austin tape.
When I'm done with this I'm going
to look into pilates. I've seen the infomercial and
was thinking about it but you have convinced me.

That's what I use -- it's good stuff! It can be tough -- but she does have modifications too - for those who either aren't strong enough - or have bad backs, necks etc. My advice - start small and work up.

Bevrs I bought this one from the Zellers store. About $9.00. It is CRUNCH Fitness! "Fat Burning PILATES" featuring Ellen Barrett."Standing Pilates-Inspired Moves Combined With Classic Mat Pilates". Ellen Barrett, instructor at Crunch Los Angeles.
This one caught my eye because the package was bright green! and because it says winning combination:calorie-burning cardio along with Pilates-based toning. This combo workout can help you sculpt your bady AND burn fat.
This is my first time trying Pilates. and I really enjoy them. Hope this helps. I haven't tried others so no comparison. Sue

Hi Bevrs,

I haven't had a chance to go thru the rest of the posts here, but I'm sure that people described Pilates to you. It's not aerobic, but more isometric. You are on the floor a lot so you won't have to worry about your knees, etc.

You basically got three videos, one is a basic video which instructs you on what Pilates is and how you do it correctly to get the most benefit out of it. The second is a 20-minute "quickie" workout video. The third is a one-hour workout video. Do either depending on how much time you can devote to a workout. I do Pilates up to five days a week.

The meal plan is basically a throw-away (at least it was for me).

HTH! and good luck. Post back here after you do a coupla workouts. I'm curious as to how you'll like it.
