I have been wheelchaired with MS for 20+ years. I was told 15 yrs ago by 2 gastro docs that I had IBS and as receenty as 2 mo ago, there was nothing they could do. I have battled my MS for 26 yr and was damned if I was going to lose to IBS. i found Heather Van Vorous' page. Got the book, the pepermint pills and Mike Maloney. Cold turkey onto no meat, dairy, alcohol, salads etc. Life changer after 15 yr of stress & accidents & shrunken social life, happy to say 7 weeks in, All's Well from day one. what a great agenda ! I am an 8 of 10 on the disability scale. Bladder & bowel incontinence for years. Need help on & off. I am curious as to any guidance from other disable out there concerning diet or nutrition problems from such a diet change. Other than the obvious, my heath systems ad vitals are in good shape "for the shape I'm in" at 71. I do have my one beer/day however ! thanks for the ear !

Welcome Robie!
I can't help with your questions as despite everything I'm still able bodied. I do see a dr. of Chinese medicine as well as Western medical professionals to keep me well and healthy (enough).
Welcome to the board! You might get more answers on the diet board than the living room as the diet board has more traffic. The living room is generally for non-ibs chit chat.
Take care and keep smiling

IBS A 20+ years, Chronic Migraines, Chiari Malformation (decompressed June 22, 2010), Brachial Neuritis, and ??? the list just keeps growing, but I'm still shiny side up!
