The oral surgeon who worked on me gave me the option of an IV drugs or none. I was told if you have any question about the pain, take the IV. I took the IV. You may not remember a thing. I didn't. One minute, they were starting the IV in my arm and the next, they were stuffing gauze in my mouth when they were done. I remember nothing in between.

Good luck. I am terrified of dentists, also. It isn't as bad as I think it will be once I get there.

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled 7 years ago and it wasn't bad at all. Once you're put under you don't know what's going on. I wish you lots of luck and it's not as bad as you think it will be .

I had one pulled several years ago. They didn't put me under...just numbed me up real good. No problems at all. I don't even remember taking any pain killers afterward. Really, it isn't bad at all, and I need 3 more pulled.

Good job, and kudos for biting that bullet! I waited way too long to do mine, and as a result all four were infected, impacted and abscessed. I'm so glad you don't have to go thru that!

Did you get novacaine dreams?
