A short update

I sat at the airport on Monday and posted an update, which, hmmmm, didn't post. So here's a brief update.
I was discharged on Saturday, a day later than planned because of nausea. My room mate from the hospital, Amanda, dad Greg was so nice he drove us to my cousin's house a few km away. We relaxed and watched cable tv - a big treat for us - we have 2 channels at home. (we won't pay to watch tv) I got outside to walk both days we were there - very good. And when we got to the airport I walked from the taxi to the ferry and all the way to check in before getting a wheelchair to take me through the terminal. The flight was rough - turbulence - but we made it home.
I'm settling into a routine of rest, walking and getting back to "normal". My pain is not too bad and manage it without taking the top-up medications. And oh the morphine is hard on my tummy!!!! I fluctuate between D and C, but OMG, I've never had to take a laxative and stool softeners before. It was a very miserable night last night. Feeling better now thank goodness.
I want to thank all my friends "who just stand by" and sent me prayers and best wishes during all of this. I still have a lot of healing to do, but I'm on my way!! I have a follow up with my surgeon in Toronto on August 30th and then I will have my return to work day decided.

What great weather we're having and you don't have to go to work!!YEA!
I'm glad you're able to get up and about and sorry about all the tummy trouble.I hope you can get off the meds and get back on track soon.
