Hi everyone,

First of all, it's nice to meet you all!

Second, I hope that I am posting this in the correct place - I didn't see where else I could ask this question...

I'd like to ask for everyones opinion about my situation, to ascertain whether it's possible that I have IBS - To be honest, I am not clued up on IBS but know generally about it and the basic symptoms. I don't want to unnecessarily go to the doctor before I get some opinions from people that have/know more about IBS.

So, I'm a healthy 25 year old female. I have a pretty good diet and don't eat much unhealthy food at all. I only eat brown bread and have a good mix of fiber, fruits and vegetables etc.
My digestive system hasn't always been the most regular than I'd like it however, but I've noticed that it's only for example, if I go on holiday and start eating foods that I don't normally eat, then I get constipated. When I am in my regular eating pattern/foods, only now and again (maybe once a month) do I get constipated, but not to the level of being overly uncomfortable.

I've had this thing happen to me only when waking up in the morning for the last several months. It happens to me maximum once a week. I wake up and have a really strong feeling of being nauseous. I also have a lot of gas. My stomach at this point doesn't feel bad, just a gassy sick feeling. I go to the toilet normally, pass urine and/or stools as normal and only after, does my stomach start to cramp, feel like I have a lot of wind and starts to feel bad. Always then after literally 10 minutes, do I feel the urge to go back to the toilet and I have diarrhea. Once I pass this, my stomach feels absolutely fine again, and I'm back to normal!

I guess, I have more questions to ask, but will leave it at this for now, to see what you all think!

Thanks in advance.

Kate.

It could be IBS but you must talk to a doctor for a accurate diagnosis as there's other things that have to tested for before diagnosis can be made.
