Hi,everyone----is it ok to take alka selzer ? Lately I get awful heartburn as soon as I eat anything ! Also are chicken hotdogs ok ? New to it all and have made painful mistakes. IBS-D 7 months Thanks !

Alka selzer has too much aspirin, and the "effervescent tablets" just really upset my system. I don't have much problem with heartburn so can't advise much there, but I do well with grilled turkey dogs. I would think that chicken would be okay also.

I do well (temporarily) with Tums. Do you have Reflux? Have you been checked? I do and I take Nexium, which helps a LOT.

I only know about Nexium. It has worked for me.

I have used Gaviscon and it works pretty good.
Feels weird though,you chew it til it gets foamy and then swallow.
