If you are not Angela E, you may read, but please do not respond.

Angela,

The other posts to both threads about injury to the coccyx were becoming mean spirited and/or shipwrecked.

I know how serious and painful your condition can be. I did a simple search and here is a link to a whole bunch of articles about this:

http://www.bing.com/search?q=coccyx+injuries+and+mental+health&go=&form=QBRE&qs=n

The nerve endings at the bottom of the tailbone (coccyx) controls many things in your body. It is the bottom end of your spinal cord and very necessary. This could even include IBS symptoms, given the mind-body connection and living with stressful chronic pain. There are many other side effects too from such an injury that some people can have! Be thankful that you are limited to pain that can be controlled and IBS that can be controlled, and not the more serious things.

Looks like you have a little reading homework to do here.

Sadly, my pastor's wife developed a seizure disorder within 24 hours of the birth of her first child from a fractured coccyx during delivery. Her seizures are presently fairly well controlled after 35 years, though she still gets them when she is overly fatigued or feeling stressed.

If we can figure out a way to exchange email addresses, I will be more than happy to support you outside of these boards and pray for you and yours.

Hugs and blessings.
