Ibs diet and personal triggers/specific personal needs are already so complicated without adding in NO No foods. SO I'm going to start by only eating Ibs safe then someday will come to the point of identifying my personal problem food or ingredients. But years of not following the diet It will take quite some time before I can start pinpointing things..SO Will follow all the guidlines and rules,I know I will see improvement just by doing that. I want to be very healhty, and decided things Like corn pop cereal, rice chex, healthy choice chicken and rice soup would be used as "emergency food" when I have nothing else cooked and feel to sick to move, but must eat. Guess those could be considered my snack or junk food. So would fat free saltines, fat free pretzels..baked lays. IF I made a syrup with blackberries, boiled with sugar and water on the stove..doesn't cooking fruits and vegtables change the chemical makeup of the food so then it's not as beneficial as eating raw fruits and vegtables or is that wrong?

Can I get alot of of naturally caffeine free teas? It would be great to have something to drink besides rice/soy milk, water and fennel tea.Naturally caffeine free teas-nothing in those would be a problem right? as their aren't any fiber in them..so Can I get befeits from blackberry tea,or other teas

want to get the most of out my diet, for example not a plain piece of toaste with safe butter, but will also add safe jelly with a banana or something.

Rooibos (or red bush) tea is naturally caffeine free, as are all herbal teas as they do not contain black tea. I love Tetley's herbal Summerberry tea when I'm not drinking peppermint tea. It's very refreshing. But sadly, you don't get any nutritional value from tea as the fruit and herbs are minimal and the doused is scalding water! No, there's no naturally existing fiber in tea.

Kuudoos to you for trying to follow the diet more strictly. It isn't easy - I admit I had a chocolate attack last night - ate too much of a safe dessert, but it was the chocolate sprinkled on top which got me... Lesson learned.

Other snacks you might try are rice crackers - really low in fat - I think 1g for every 15 crackers! I also eat graham crackers and baby cookies. But read your ingredients!! I know what I have at my stores here will differ greatly from what you can get.

Watch for the ingredients like whey / whey powder - it's from milk, and watch the fat grams. When I was trying to get stable I tried to eat no more than 12 to 14 g of fat in one meal. It was enough through the day to sustain me, but any more made me ill.

Good luck!!!
