I saw Whip It the other day. It is directed by Drew Barrymore and it was a cute movie. I also saw the new Fame movie a few weeks ago. The dancing and singing were entertaining but I liked the first Fame more than this remake.

I want to see Men Who Stare At Goats with George Clooney. The commercial looks funny but sometimes those movies show all the funny parts in the commercials.

No we haven't seen anything in a LOOOOONNGG while
but we did just watch the first Friday the13th movie. It was my sons 13th birthday party(he was born on the 3rd) we held it on Friday the 13th and watched the movie.
FYI I forgot watching the first time and boy was it cheesy.Funny tho and the kids loved it.
I didn't realize though it had a sex scene in it.They didn't show anything but boy was it suggestive.guess I should have watched it beforehand, even though my son says it wasn't anything they hadn't already seen.sad that is!

anyway i want to see the new Jim Carey movie.looks funny.

We rented "Taking Chance" from NetFlix last week:

Quote:

Based on an article by Marine Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, this HBO original film tells the story of Strobl's emotional experience traveling across America as a volunteer escort officer for the body of fallen 19-year-old marine Chance Phelps.

This is an amazing movie - I can't recommend it highly enough.

I remember seeing the previews for this movie and I missed seeing it. I had completely forgotten about it. We will be re-joining Netflix soon and I will rent that one. I have heard from other people it was very good too.

Thanks Sand!

Very brave of you to watch Friday the 13th. I cannot watch scary movies at all. My DH loves them but I won't go.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I rented Saturday Night Fever for my daughter. I saw that movie in the theater when it first came out and I did not remember all of the inappropriate topics for a young teen girl.

It is very scary to think what kids know now days about sex. Way more than I knew at that age. Good luck!

I also want to see the new movie Robin Williams has coming out and also the new one with Sandra Bullock. Both look good. I haven't seen the preview for the Jim Carey movie.

I love going to the movies!

We're going to see 2012 either later this week or next. The special effects look amazing.

I second that - Taking Chance is amazing.

We just watched Disney's UP. I love the talking dog!
DH just bought the new Star Trek too, so I'll be watching that soon!

We should have a favorite movies thread too!! I'm hitchhiking your thread Janey and started another!!

Good idea Cassandra. I forgot that we watched UP the other day. It is a cute movie but I don't think it is for small children. We also rented GI Joe. It wasn't bad but I am glad I rented it from Redbox instead of going to the theater to see it.

I love movies but I am terrible about remembering the names sometimes.

Law Abiding Citizen with Gerard Butler and Jaime Fox. It was pretty good. I really had no interest in seeing this movie but DH wanted to go. It was better than I thought it would be and Gerard Butler is yummy! What a Bod!

Janey,

Please pardon my ignorance here, but what does "DH" mean?

I'm not Janey, but in "DH" generally stands for "dear husband," or "darling husband."

We generally don't go to the theater too often, but do Netflix all winter. I watched The Ugly Truth and hated it. Last night we watched The Rocker and laughed so hard! A lot of jokes were just slapstick but sometimes that is just what you need.
