What Amytriptyline did to me

I am done. I have been on the Amytriptyline for almost two months. It hasn't done much for my symptoms AND it made me feel really cloudy and somewhat depressed. When I was on this med I was overly sensitive and burst into tears for no good reason. To some it up it made me feel like I had PMS for about a month and a half! SO I have cut the dose in half and I am weaning myself off! I may as well have all my IBS symptoms and feel great mentally rather then take something that makes me feel lousy and doesn't work.

I am sorry the amytriptyline did not work for you. It is very frustrating to be hopefull when trying a new med. only to have it not work.

It seems this medication works very differently for each person who takes it. I have had good luck besides the little bit of weight gain which I have decided that I will live with.

I hope you are able to find something else that will work and I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Thanks Janey. I really craved sugar while I was on it. You were right about that. I am glad it works for you.
