It shouldn't. Do you need to gain weight or do you need to lose weight?
When I was first diagnosed, I lost 10lbs right off. Of course, I've gained some back. But, when you feel badly, you really don't care about eating. Ya know? Also, the low fat diet really helps, and you can make it healthy!

Hi,
I am severly underweight and not able to gain weight inspite of having good diet So I thought IBS causes difficulty in gaining weight.
I have got to know that certain things should be avoided like milk ,butter,eggs,non-veg,fatty stuff so howcome I'll be able to gain weight??
Could you please suggest me few healthy and easily available substitutes or you can provide me a kind of diet chart for the day.

Maybe you could try eating every couple of hours. Eat over 2000 calories/day. Use a soy protein powder and lift weights to bulk up some muscle.
