I just came from Mayo Clinic and confirmed pelvic floor dysfunction and IBS. After my 12 hr. surgery to correct problem, just found out surgery worsened my pelvic floor dysfuntion. I didn't need surgery. Since my surgery in December, I have been able to have a bowel movement on my own without any help for a total of 3 days. May 24-26. I have to take enemas because I have a hard time pushing out. I will be going back to Mayo for physical therapy in a week. Please pray for me because that is my only option. I have also started acupuncture hopefully that will help IBS and pelvic floor dysfunction. If anyone has or is going through this help! If anyone has pelvic floor dysfunction, please make sure you really need surgery, because it is rarely sucessful. I am living a nightmare. I think if I can control IBS maybe I will feel better. I had IBS under control before surgery, but now my life is a nightmare. Any suggestions from anyone. PLEASE.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I will definitely let everyone know if I make any progress. May the Lord and St. Jude have mercy on me and grant me a miracle.

Thank you for link. I will look into it. I don't have incontience though. My pelvic muscle is too tight. Doctors say muscles are fighting each other and they are going to try to relax and retrain muscles.

I don't either! I tried it thinking it might help me with ibs. It didn't but it helped me feel different with breathing, and other things too. The method I is partly about learning to let go of extra muscle tension as you described. I think its worth a shot! ( I'm not connected to the person who made the cds in any way btw. Just think they're helpful and believe strongly in the method behind them)

Thanks I did goggle and read more about it. Will definitely try. I just didn't want to try anything that would make muscles tighter. Greatly appreciate your suggestions. Knowing you used and helped for same reason is very helpful. Again thank you.

I read on one of your posts that you use hypnotherapy tapes. Have those helped for IBS and pelvic floor dysfunction?

I used Hypno for ibs only. It helped me somewhat but no miracles. I actually did the 100 day program 3 times. Its helped some people dramatically and can't hurt.
