Well my friends cousin started having symptoms just like me which was urgent bowel movements so she went to her doctor and they checked out the possiblitlity of it being her anal sphincter muscle and sure enough it was. It was probably casused by her giving birth not to long ago and she went through a surgery to fix it. So she had told me that it reminded her of me and she let me know about it so I looked up on the interenet and it sounds like that might be my problem. It even list the two medicines most people take to help the issue until surgery and it is the two I am on immodium and lomotil. So I have an appt on Wed and I am going to bring this up to be checked out. Has anyone else thought of this being there issue or has anyone had experience with this issue? It says childbirth can damage the muscle and nerves in the anal area and cause bowel urgency/incontinence and my issue started right after I gave birth which was my third child.

I never have personally but one of friends had this problem. She was taking the same meds you until she had to eventually have surgery. She said the worse part of the surgery was having to sit on one of those donut thingys LOL But she said for her it was worth the surgery as now she doesn't have that urgency thing going on anymore. She is IBS D.

I am having these issues too. I'm surprised that this thread hasn't been commented on since '09, maybe nobody else has this problem?
