In late February of this year, I had some weird episodes of my body going numb and my speech getting slurred. At first everyone thought it was some type of stroke. After many tests it seems I had a partial blockage in a carotid artery. -- One of the results is that I am on an 1,800 calorie per day diet. I'm wondering what are some IBS-safe recipes that are also low calorie. I can browse the recipe index, but if anyone knows any right away, let me know. Thanks.

marty- I'll contact you after finals next week, but you may want to see if your doc will give you a referral to a dietitian under insurance.. they can help a ton with this type of thing.. also: what are your triggers?

There are some Weight Watchers recipes out there. You can look for "WW" in recipe names in the Recipe Index.

HTH. Good luck with your health.

Hi there,

I would definitely see a nutritionist/dietitian to help you through this. I know of two great dietitians that conduct phone consultations and take insurance, if you are open to a phone consultation. Click on this link to view Shana Goldman, MS, RD and Julie Starkel, MS, RD http://www.helpforibs.com/footer/links.asp#in.

I hope this helps!
