Believe it or not, there are still people who are offended by the use of bad language in public.

yes I do know..But maybe a person could wear it not caring if strangers have a problem with it. It's not my problem if some person is offended, hahah.

whose the certain people? I'd like to think its older people who frown at it or close minded parents..perhaps going into the place u work on your day off to get your paycheck, especially. My boyfriend doesn't know what to get me for christmass,so I told him I'd have a short list of items and he can chose one..Well this shirt is better than the necklace or dvds I wanted!

So you'd be fine with me getting into an elevator with you and smoking? You'd be fine with me littering? You'd be fine with me dumping my garbage in front of your house? You'd be fine with me jumping the line to get movie tickets or catch a cab? You'd be fine with me using ethnic, racial, and sexual slurs? You'd be fine with me saying ugly things about you to another person while you're listening? You'd be fine with me using foul language to refer to your mother or brother or child? Right? After all, it's not my problem if you're offended.

Part of living in a civil society is respecting other people. Yes, sometimes it's necessary to do things that offend others - for example, speaking out when you see a person doing something wrong - but I see no reason to offend others unnecessarily. There's enough anger, incivility, "I don't care about you" in society as it is. Why would you want to add to it? Buy the shirt, wear it at home or at gatherings with your friends who presumably share your taste in language. But why go out of your way to be offensive to total strangers on the street?

NO. As a parent I would be offended as I would not want my child to read that type of language and let's face it they would be able to. I try not to expose them to things that they are not ready for. And since my son is 4 and CAN read I would hate to have to explain it to him. Isn't there other ways to be easy going and relaxed without being vulgar? Especially in a society where values seem to have gone by the wayside. I know it is people's rights to express there thoughts, but to me if you are intelligent enough to have an opinion, couldn't you find a more intelligent way of expessing yourself? Just my two cents since you asked!

And to comment that this isn't a real word, well come on now... we know what the intent of this is suppose to be. You know I teache 10 year olds and I have had my share of students who like to test the waters with "vulgar" words. You know what I tell them, I read a story a while back about Will Smith and how he wrote rap songs when he was younger. Well they were the gansta rap and his grandma got a hold of his journal. She told him that using that kind of langauge and talking that way about people doesn't make you "cool" or respected. He said she made such an impact on him that he changed the way he wrote rap songs. Well look how successful he is and he expresses himself just fine. (without the vulgarity!)

Not the smoking on elevator, littering, or dumping garbage in front of my house..As those are illegal...As for racial and sexual slurs..Some can be funny, some people need to laugh at themselves, while some shirts are a little too messup for my taste, I will just ignore it or not look at it. Hey I'm used to others saying things about me while I'm listening, nothings new.

but the jumping lines and such,it's a free country..I don't do that..but Hey I could say f you or something..

Because it looked like it was headed towards too much drama and mean-spiritedness. I did not want to be a part of that. I had way too much of that with the vegan/meat posts.

Don't be offended. I just want to try and stay positive. There are many nice, helpful people on these boards, that I would choose to communicate with...a few, not so much. After the vegan/meat posts, those few... I do not read nor respond to their posts.

Have a good evening.

Why ask the question if you don't want real answers? No need to argue with or belittle other peoples opinions just because they don't agree with yours.

I would like to know where you work that it would be appropriate to wear this shirt to pick up your paycheck? I know most places of employment would not appreciate or see the humor in this shirt at the work place.

If you truly just wanted people's thoughts on the topic then you wouldn't have responded the way you did to Sand's reply. Your answers seem flippant and smart aleck. I think your intent was to stir up trouble and I truly understand why I don't come to the living room anymore.

Despite the rather heated debate on this shirt...it's funny I feel that way sometimes too. However no its not something I would wear other than to bed.
Some people i see got really offended by this shirt..
My question is how old are you aperson? Cause as a parent I don't want to see this on my kid or do I want to have to explain to them what it means.
I have small children and if my kids were adults it wouldn't really matter but trying to sheild our children from the nastiness out there gets harder everyday and we can only do it for so long.
I'm sure if you get the shirt you won't enjoy it now cause after all these comments, how could you wear it and NOT think about everything everyone has said.

I agree with you. I don't come to the Living Room very often anymore either. Things have changed so much. The LR used to be a place that offered support for issues other than IBS and we were always there for each other. I wish we could get back to that point again because we all need support.

Nice seeing you though Angela.

No need to email you @ your personal email. It is your choice and right to wear the shirt if you choose to. I have no problem with that, although I would not choose to wear it. "nough said"

Just wanted you to know my husband thinks this shirt is funny and wants to buy one for each of his volleyball team.
Instead of being the rookies, they could be the fukitols.

One for each player. It's an all adult league and they would all find it funny, not offensive.

We have shirts around here that say save the boobies. The people that wear them do it to show support to a young mother that died from breast cancer a couple years ago.

Hope you enjoy your new shirt!

You brought up the subject, therefore, should be able to deal with the responses. Working with 11-21 year-old students who have behavior problems - there is NOTHING I haven't heard or been told to do to myself! However, as I would tell "my children" :-) - this is certainly not appropriate in public. And, I know your answer in advance, but, I find it inappropriate for you to continue to use the "f" word - whether abbreviated or not - in your posts. I'm sure your vocabulary is much larger than that...
No student could ever wear a shirt like that to school, but sadly, I have many parents who come in dressed much like that. And, the public school system is supposed to straighen them (the students) out???
I'm sure you are a wonderful person and maybe a little attention seeking, but please don't denegrate yourself...

hey, thanks for the reply..I am 21,but not a student. Well since I didn't say what the "f word" was.. in the posts I used "f word" its anything your imagination desires..so if you think the f word is a certain word..then think it. Is this what you thought my answere was in advance,or something els, lol. denegrate? maybe I am reading it wrong,or saying it wrong..but i don't know what that word means.

Thank you for not "biting my head off"! :-) As far as "knowing your answer in advance - it was similar - you do have freedom of speech, but I find it better to live in a kinder world - where I am not intentionally offending others.
But, your response by simply saying using "F" does not imply the actual word - meaning that if you think that's what it means, then 'your bad', is just a cop out... But, still doesn't give you an excuse to imply profanity. And, my bad on spelling denegrate - it should be "denigrate" which is similar to belittle and means, you are too intelligent to use this language to make yourself look bad:
" to cause (a person or thing) to seem little or less".
Think better of yourself than this....

My 2 cents....When I read the t-shirt it made me laugh because it sums up how I feel on some days. However, I would not wear it in public for two reasons,

a) it is offensive to some people, I think you got a pretty good sample of what people's thought might be in the replies above; and,

b) it might affect the way people perceive me. I don't use such language in public (not that I swear a lot at home, but you know, when a brick falls on your big toe there are certain words that relieve the immediate pain ), and I don't want others to think that I do.

Hope that answers your question

Hi Janey! Good to see you as well. I hope that you are doing well. I am pretty stable, but deal with issues about every other month. We are so busy right now with holiday parties. I love this time of the year but sometimes the stress gets to me!! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Thank you Angela and Happy Holidays to you and your family too. I love this time of year too except the stress of buying presents. I tend to eat things that I shouldn't though. I just can't seem to resist all the sweets even though I try hard.
