I just finished reading the first book. I have not seen the movie. I'm not sure if I want to see it or not. I heard it's cheesy, but most book-to-movies are. I found the book to be a nice read even though I am not a fan of vampire stories.

I'm in the middle of the first book. My husband read it before me. That cracks me up. Anyway, I like it so far.

I absolutely love the books! I am on the last one now. I saw the movie, and the first part was literally laughable. It just was so cheesy and fake. But the last half of the movie got much better. I would recommend seeing it just because I heard that they are going to make a second one based on the second book. But maybe wait for it to come out on video.

I finished the first book. I heard the movie was good and bad. I'll probably just rent it. Apparently it's "low budget" so the next one will probably have a lot more advancement and better effects. The movie made $70 million this weekend.
I am going to read the other books, but gosh, I need a break from that a bit. It's pretty intense, but still a good read.

Without giving anything away, can you say if the movie is based on just the first book or is based on a couple of the books?
If I didn't have a turkey to deal with, I'd be reading the rest of the first book this morning.

I have read all 4 books and they are great!! I can't wait for the 5th one!! Haven't seen the movie yet though.
