Dulcolax tablets, Which ones to do I get???

My paper says: Purchase 6 Dulcolax tablets (OTC stool softener). Take 2 of the tablets after dinner two days prior to the procedure.
However, I checked out the materials I'll need for my colon prep on Monday and there are two different types of Dulcolax tablets: laxative or stool softener.
Which one do I get?

Since it's for a colonoscopy, I suspect it's the laxatives. They are a stimulant and will make you go, unlike a stool softener which just makes it easier to go. So i say laxative, but I would double check.

It's been a long time since I've done this, I didn't realize you could use dulcolax for colon prep.
When do you take the other 4 tabs?

Remaining 4 I'll take the day before the procedure at 4:00pm and start drinking Mirlax stuff.
I'm going to call doc office tomorrow to find out for sure.

Called the doctor's office today. I'm to get the stool softeners! The miralax stuff will be the laxative.. yay!

I think I love your doctor if he's letting you take tablets instead of drinking that gallon of junk. I couldn't do it, makes me throw up... Let us know how everything goes... Prayers for information you need to get well, but a "good report" - nothing serious!

Thank you so much for your prayers! I do have to drink 1/2 gallon of Miralax for the prep. I'm hoping it taste better than the other stuff.

I understand it is tasteless... not salty like the other stuff. I'll say a prayer for you... The procedure itself is nothing - they give you good drugs! :-) You won't know a thing until they are waking you up.
