First of all, Congratulations!

Um, did you read my Pregnancy Update post below??? You've just mentioned every symptom I've been having for the last 6 weeks. Everyone keeps telling me it will all pass, so I'm trying to think positively. Have you tried the rounds of "safe" nausea meds yet? Ask your doc. The first thing they told me was a combination of vitamin B6 and Unisom, which didn't really work. I tried all the safe meds they let me try, nothing worked, but acupuncture is finally helping. So I would suggest you start trying that now!

Also, you'd better get used to NOT sleeping on your stomach. Eventually, you'll only be able to sleep on your side, so you should start getting out of that habit soon.

As for the intimacy thing, I hear ya. I mentioned in my post that we've had sex once in the last 6 weeks! I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING, plus I have been feeling so crappy EVERY day. If you haven't bought any pregnancy books yet, buy them now, and get one for hubby to read so he can start to understand what you're going through. Assure him that once you hit the "honeymoon trimester" (the second one) your sex drive will be back in full force!!!

By the way, I HIGHLY recommend "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy". I think Flipada actually recommended it on this site, and it's GREAT!!!

Good luck! It's nice that there's someone else around here who's in about the same place as me!!

Congrats on your pregnancy! And don't worry, this phase will pass, and you'll feel more energized again. And then you'll get to where I am--9 months pregnant and totally not interested in intimacy of any kind, ha ha. But it's worth it!!

I think my symptoms peaked around nine or ten weeks and then backed off again, although "intimacy" has yet to be what it once was--and I'm 7.5 months postpartum!

Every discomfort is absolutely worth it! Congrats!

Ok, Christine. I saw where you posted "intimacy has yet to be what it once was"
Let me say, I have a 3 1/2yr old, and a 17mo old. When my 17mo old was about 15mo old, I FINALLY felt like having sex again. It took my hormones a LONG time to get back on track. Now my husband LOVES my new found "interest!!"

So just be patient girlfriend, I promise you will get it back!!

Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Breast is best. The baby gets all the good stuff anyway. If you aren't too sure then you could also supplement with formula. I had to do this for my first for other issues but I at least knew he was getting lots of food.

Good luck in the coming months!

Hey there! Glad to hear you're feeling better. I'm 13 weeks now, and still not quite out of the crappy phase yet. Hopefully soon.

Definitely breastfeed!!! You eat way healthier than you think, trust me! Especially if you follow Heather's diet. Your baby will be SO much healthier - and so will you! I believe breastfeeding has been shown to reduce the mother's risk of things like cancer and arthritis.

Good luck!

I agree about breastfeeding---it's really easy once you get the hang of it, and no messing around with formula. It's nice to know if you're with the baby--the baby will eat, no matter what. And it's free!

Doing ok...REALLY ready to have this baby!! With Mia, I was induced 6 days later, and never felt any signs of labor until I got to the hospital. This time is totally different, I'm already dilated some, my doctor doesn't expect I'll make it to the weekend, but if I do, he'd induced me (39 weeks 3 days). I probably won't go that route unless I really feel horrible, I'd like to just go into labor this time. I have contractions all the time, but nothing closer than 5 minutes apart and not for very long. The waiting is killing me!! Here's a picture from a few days ago--my belly is HUGE!!
