CAN I GET MY FLAT ABS BACK??

OK HEY ALL JUT WANTED TO ASK I USED TO HAVE A SUPER FLAT ABDOMEN. THEN IBS-C SET IN A YEAR AGO AND IT AINT AN UGLY TUMMY BUT IT HAS LIKE A LITTLE POOCH AT THE BOTTOM. WHAT DO I DO TO GET RID OF IT WILL I ACHIEVE A FLAT ABDOMEN IF I WORK OUT. OR AM I STUCK WITH THE DISTENDED ONE .I KNOW THIS IS KIND OF A STUPID QUESTION BUT I MISS MY STOMACH I KNOW ITS UNDER ALL THAT DISTENTION THANK YOU

crunches, reverse crunches, twists, it's hard to explain, I'll see if I can find a website like with samples. I've been a gym rat and have lost lots in my tummy... but I'm also a big girl... or I was bigger at one time... I do lots of ab work...
I personally have improved BM's when I DO work my abs.... even if I'm bloated and gassy... I still do them...not only do I see the results, I can also feel it...meaning it helps my trapped gas escape!!

I agree with Shell Marr that abdominal exercises (and any exercise) help things move along... but you are right - the "pooch" isn't fat, it's bloating, trapped gas and, well, poop. Until your system is working better and you're not as C, this probably won't go away. I am underweight, but like a lot of people on this site, i start the day with a pretty flat stomach and by evening i am a beach ball. Hard on the self-image, not to mention the waistband. However, during a brief period when i got quite a bit better, I distinctly recall eating meals - and my stomach staying the same size! It was like a miracle to me. So it can happen. We just gotta keep working on it!

Yeah, I hear you. I also miss my flat tummy and being able to wear tight shirts and tank tops . Oh well. They only thing that works for me is to get this IBS absolutely under control. I work out and I've always been very active and healthy weight and it seems that no matter how much ab work I do the distention is there. For me I just really have to focus on the diet.
