My husband and I just got married in June... We had a justice of the peace do the ceremoney where we had our surviving parents as witnesses (my mom and his dad, us and the jp) it was quiet and simple.. I have a large family but most of them don't really talk to me until they were fishing for an invite... I didn't invite them though, and I did worry about never hearing the end of it but, finally my husband and I realized that this is our day and we are going to have who we want there and no one else... In the end we had about 50 people between some of my family, his family, friends and co-workers...

We already decided to get married, but didn't have a ring yet. Well let me tell you why I'm so happy to be marrying this wonderful man!

Last night, he said "let's make pasta puttancesa for dinner" (one of our special occasion meals). We started cooking; he set the table with wine glasses & started nice relaxing music. We had a wonderful meal together. (I even had a tiny sip of wine--an expensive bottle of chateau neuf du pape.) He excused himself from the table, went into the restroom, and wouldn't let me come in.

When he finally did let me in, I knew he had the ring. There were candles all around the tub, and bubble bath & rose petals in the water. It was SO romantic & beautiful! Not to give TMI, but he told me to get in & close my eyes. When I opened them again he was in front of me w/the ring. He told me he loved me, I was his partner & best friend, & the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, etc--I didn't hear the rest, I was bawling. It was so amazing!

So even though he officially asked weeks ago, I will remember last night as when he proposed. I am so lucky to have him. He has been so patient & loving during all my IBS/endo stuff. I consider myself the luckiest woman alive!

Sorry this was so long, but thanks for letting me swoon!
