Hi ya'll, My name is Jaime. A.K.A Mother Rose I am 29 years old. I am a Christian, Home school teacher, Wife, Mother. I look forward to posting my meal ideas and recipes soon.
Here's my story-> 1. Huge hernia (c section 5 years ago = need to lose weight over 100 lbs to get surgery (has been extremely difficult to lose much)
2. Massive hemorrhoids and rectal bleeding = solved I am IBS and Lactose intolerant. 3. Huge Pylop (removed) in colon= Pending checkup sigmoid flex sep 17th
4. Spastic colon-/I.B.S= treatment in progress being mostly well managed with diet and other lifestyle changes
5. Hiatal hernia- Might pursue surgery even though it is small, due to severe acid problems AFTER weight loss goal obtained..
6. gastricitis/ acid reflux, Stomach pain, nausea, athsma/breathing difficulty, sore throat, raw bleeding nasal and sinus drainage, very successful treatment in progress in minimal pain now
Pill form of Prevacid 30mg- Dr Bridges upgrade Carafate suspension liquid 10 ml- Dr Bridges from hospital Zofran 4mg- for nausea from Hospital Dr $$$...yikes!
7. Hot burning throat (like i ate cinnamon gum and it got stuck "lump")= Still an issue and pursuing ecco cardiogram of the throat as Endo had suggested moths ago. ASAP Already had a CT scan Upper GI Endoscopy (august), and they found nothing.
8 Low Thyroid- Seems to be doing fine, I will request a TSH test when I see Dr Bridges, or I might wait for 6 months appointment i made- to see Endo Dr Shipman Depending on how I feel and my weight loss on sept 17th My dosing chart is dizzying! Hubbie made a chart in his spreadsheet program. he updated the chart this morning when we got up late...;o).
I appreciate that!!! <3 <3 <3
so, my PRE-EXISTING (years) worsening burning lump in throat seems to be the only issue I have, although it is less intense and it may take a MONTH to go away while on medication Note- No Ulcer of the throat or stomach was discovered during Upper GI endoscopy or CT scan (August)
So, now I feel full, and not hungry all the time. I can stop snacking so much (acid reducer) and go for my long walks (acid causing athsma= no energy) and LOSE SOME cotton pickin' WEIGHT...Lord willing!

That is an exact description of what I have, as well. I've been on: Prilosec Prevacid Protonix Nexium Pepcid AC
Nothing helps!!! I avoid all the acid reflux foods and work out daily! I am of a normal weight and I'm only 21 years old!
Does anyone know how to help with this burning in the throat??

Also someone else posted:
Also, Heather said this about frequent heartburn: "In naturopathic medicine, heartburn is often thought to be caused by low stomach acid which causes the undigested food to sit in the stomach too long and create pressure. It can also contribute to inadequately digested protein in the stomach. This can disrupt the digestive process downstream as well. If you followed the tips I listed above and still experienced heartburn, you might want to follow up with a provider to test your stomach acid levels. "
I am concerned that means that Nexium (or any other PPI for that matter) is making my heartburn and IBS worse! Because if low acid is the cause of this, then Nexium is doing nothing but lowering my stomach acid EVEN MORE!
I also heard the fundoplication surgery used for GERD can make IBS even worse because then you can't burp and gas gets even more trapped in your stomach/intestines (and I already have a ton of bloating!)
Thank you to ANYONE who has any advice! I've been dealing with non-stop burning in my chest and throat and the "lump" feeling for most of this year!
