Anyone here quit smoking and trying to become stable. It's driving me CRAZY!!! Can't smoke can't eat and that's all I want to do. Before if I couln't eat....at least i could smoke. Now I'm just trying not to snack and set my tum in knots! Thanks for listening.......I just had to get that off my chest.

My DH just quit 2 weeks ago...he did it cold turkey but with web support. Two sites that are good are stopquit.com and whyquit.com They tell you about dealing with triggers, social issues, symptoms after you quit...he hasn't had any cravings yet, just a bad cough as his lungs are beginning to heal. Good Luck......one day at a time.

I quit smoking 2 times, the first for 3 years. The second it's been almost 4 and I could not have done it without using nicotene gum and the patch. My body was going crazy with no smoking and it was the only thing I had to keep me going. It does get easier over time but don't feel like you have to it cold turkey. Sometimes it will take you several tries before it really sticks. If you cheat, don't berate yourself just move on.
You also might want to search for a local quit smoking group or meeting in your area. My mom did that with the patch and it worked well for her.
And don't hang out with other smokers if you can help it right now!
Good luck,
