My dad also has both PF & IBS. One of the most soothing things he found was to freeze water in an empty 20 oz plastic coke/water bottle. Be sure to fill the bottle only about 3/4 full and freeze with the lid off so there's room for it to expand as it freezes! Once it's frozen, put the lid back on and roll it under your foot like that little gadget. He said the ice and the rolling action was way more soothing than the gadget from the store.

My main advice would just be to take care of yourself with this sort of exercise (are you seeing a physical therapist yet?) and by getting very high quality shoes (dad has custom insoles made for his) so you don't have to take too many of the meds that can be so hard on your tummy. Also, know your limits... even when it starts to feel better, you still shouldn't try to do a marathon day where you're on your feet for hours and hours.

Hope that helps!

Im sorry the medication is hurting your tummy.I am a massage therapist and and I also have ibs and I work with people that have plantar fascitis all the time. When the inflamation does go down one good thing to do is use a tennis ball and roll it under your foot for 10 min and it will loosen the tight muscles and facsia under the foot and relieve some of the pain. Maybe do it every other day and soon it souldn't be so painfull. Good luck.

I didn't even think of going to a physical therapist for this. Thanks for the info. spoon
