Well, so much for celebrating on Saturday... I have ANOTHER bad cold (my 5th one since November ), Adam's sick too, and we've spent most of the weekend asleep. On top of THAT, none of my friends bothered to call, nobody sent me birthday cards, and I ended up feeling really... forgotten. Oh, and I missed my dad like crazy. So it was a really lame and kinda sucky birthday, but these things happen, I guess! LOL

Thanks for all the good wishes, anyway!

I'm sorry it worked out that way, Casey. ((hugs))

I tend to be really, really sensitive about my birthday. I think it's because it was the one day of the year where my mom really went out of her way to make us feel special. As an adult, I tend to have these totally unrealistic expectations about how it's going to go, and I've been known to cry if so-and-so doesn't call or whatever.

This past year my big 3-0 was the same day as DH's MBA graduation. I totally understood that my big day needed to take the back-burner, but at the same time it sucked to have a house full of people and be running around serving on my birthday, at best getting an offhand, "Oh yeah, Happy B-day" from people.! After everyone left and the clock struck midnight I sat down and cried, because I was like, "That was my 30th???"

We did some serious celebrating a couple of weeks later, though, so that made up for it.

Sorry. Didn't mean to make it all about me. I'm just trying to say I can completely understand why it sucked--especially with Dad gone, too. (((Hugs))) That really puts my little "woe is me" issues into perspective.
