Don't take your eyes off the road for a SECOND!!!! What a wakeup call for me!!! I was simply reaching for a tissue (in the driver's side door so it's not like I was reaching across the car or something). My front right tire slipped into a rut in the ditch. I swerved back on the road, lost control, blew both tires out of the RH side and landed half in the ditch and half on the road (I was able to drive it over onto the side of the road). Yikes! I'm perfectly fine - a little shaky, but please, everybody, darlings, it only takes a split second to lose control. Be careful out there everyone!
Now we have a nasty repair bill ahead of us - blech! I said "honey, I'm so sorry I wrecked your car" but he just said "I don't care. As long as you didn't wreck you." Sigh.
Be careful!!!!!!!

Glad you're ok! I had a similar experience in January, in that I had a minor accident - I was paying attention & driving slowly, but slid on ice, and it made me realise the same thing - keep your eyes on the road & focus. Before that I wasn't so great at that... (Suddenly I just thought 'If it's this scary skidding at 5mph, how scary would it be at 60 or 70 or 80mph?!! )

Your hubby's right - car's are made of metal, we're irreplaceable.

How are you in general? You posted a while back you were having a difficult time, I've been thinking about you. [[[[HUGS]]]]]

My last accident (yes, I've had more than one) was caused because I was fiddling with my cell phone. I think the car in front of me had slammed on the brakes, and I just didn't have time to stop.

That car stopped for a crosswalk, though, so things could have been much, much worse!

Always a good reminder, Alicia! Thanks!

How sweet of you to remember when I know you're going through so much yourself. Things are going okay. It's been extremely hard, but I'm still stable and not depressed, so that's really something!!!!
Thinking of you too, sweetheart!
XOXO

I am glad you are ok Alicia! That must have been scary. It is so easy to be distracted in the car nowadays with cell phones, kids, etc.!!!

First of all, I'm SO GLAD YOU WEREN'T HURT! Secondly, thank you for reminding up to pay attention. I commute 45 minutes each way and sometimes I can kind of drift off in my thoughts because the drive is so boring. I'll be more careful from now on!

I'm glad you're okay. WHEW! That must have been terrifying.

Big hugs!
