I've had a muscle spasm since this morning. It's on my right thigh, right where you'd get an injection. But I haven't had an injection there in a month.

What could be causing it? It feels weird and I'm going into my 6th hour of this. Any suggestions on how to stop it? I'm allergic to bananas and don't have any potassium on hand. Heat or ice maybe?

This happens to me once in a while. Are they painful or just annoying? I would try putting some heat on it to relax the muscle.

It's *really* annoying. It feels like a slow strobe light, flicking on and off.

This isn't the first time in the last few months I've had this, tho it's the first in this particular place. ????

Thank you so much for the reply! I'll try the heat... It's SO annoying.

Definitely go with heat and try rubbing it - I hate when that happens!!

Good luck!!

I'd say strecth and heat! An extra vic wouldn't hurt anything either!

It's gone for now... I ate something and it went away. Is it possible to get muscle spasms (in legs, arms) when one doesn't eat?

I had an attack last night-- lots of gas and D. I know it's possible to get cramps due to dehydration, but spasms? Anyway the spasm's gone for now.

And Michele, I took 2 vics anyway. Just re-upped on those yesterday, which is good considering I hadn't taken any for a couple days and I had a bad attack last night. Just in time too. They really settle my stomach when it's out.

Glad to hear its gone!! My body does all sorts of funky stuff when I get dehydrated or don't eat. I do get very shaky all over and twitchy.

I get shaky and twitchy too! Lately I've been worried I have symptoms of Parkinson's disease, and I've been reading up a lot on it. So every new and different symptom I come down with I zip to the Parkinson's diagnostic websites and stress about it!!!!! ARG.

The weirdest symptom I've ever had is that I pass out, fall down and have a seizure when I smell ammonia or rubbing alcohol. (???) I still can't figure out that one. I know fibromites are sensitive to smells, but THAT's some major sensitivity there.

I think I'm going to start keeping a "weird symptom" diary...

muscle spasms mean you need to get more magnesium, try a cal/mag 2:1 ratio if you are D, so that you won't get d from the mag.

I get muscles spasms like that all the time....annoying, but haven't really figured out anything to do about them. Bananas are a migraine trigger for me, so I'm in the same boat as you with that.

Bed-bound with a nasty fibro flare today....I think it's the weather, we've had hot and cold fronts coming through every couple of days it seems. Not happy for my muscles!

Got your email this morning, will respond sometime this weekend!
