Hello,

I am not sure what forum to post this on - so here goes. In the midst of an attack - am I to eat only plain oatmeal, plain white rice, plain potatoes? How will I get my protein? I have difficulty as is with low blood sugar. Any suggestions? Thanks and I appreciate everyones comments.

This would get more responses in the eating for ibs section but I'll try to help. If you are prone to D attacks, oatmeal can upset some people. I seem to do ok with it but I know others do not. Nelly here calls it "outmeal" in fact!

The breaking the cycle diet is only meant to be done for a day or two. You can not live on plain rice and potatoes for very long! It seems a lot of people do ok with protein if they eat it with something very soluble, like white rice. Try some plain chicken breast with your rice. Or some low fat fish with your potato.

Taking it one day at a time.....
