Please send hugs, I'm so sad. I was pulling out of the driveway this morning to go to work and Chloe, my 5.5 year old kitty ran across the street and got hit by a car. I saw the whole thing. I won't go into details as it was a bit graphic. I stopped my car and ran across to her calling for Will. By the time he got there, she was passing. He picked her broken body up and she died in his arms. I can't stop crying.

We fought with her for almost a year when she was younger to keep her inside but she was a bit of a wild thing and just liked to be outside. She was born with a shoulder defect and limped and was in pain a lot from it so we knew she was going to have a shorter life and we decided to let her live it the way she was happy.

She loved to run in the yard, chase birds and catch mice. We got a new cement driveway this year and she thought we put it in just for her as she loved to roll around on it and scratch herself. She was more Wills cat if that makes sense but we are both morning her. She was a bit wild but a good kitty and she will be missed.

In loving memory of Cloe, aka Sissy

We love you sweetie and you will be missed. We wrapped her in her favorite blanket and buried her in the garden next to my Coco kitty who passed about 6 years ago. May they play well together and keep each other company.

Aww, Michele! I'm so sorry about your loss. As a fellow cat lover, I know I would be devestated and hope that your other cat and puppies can help comfort you.

I'm so sorry, Michele. Your post brought tears to my eyes. At least you can have some comfort knowing that she is happy and playing with your other cat now.

I'm trying to remember the good things about her and how she was but I SAW it happen and watched her die, the memory is haunting me. Its bad enough that she had to die like this but did I have to see it happen. This sadness is bringing out so much other pain in me.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. My IBS has acted up a bit the last few days. It hasn't been bad but still it's worse than it has been most of the time the last 6 months so I'm trying to eat just SF food today. I shouldn't complain - especially not when I write a post to you - but it just awakens these panic feelings I felt last winter when things just kept getting worse. But I hope it's just temporary and goes back to the way I like it and that it then stays that way. Anyway, with that and trying to make the people at work understand that I don't like the thought of having computer labs alone under these circumstances it's just been a bit much today. And so when I read your post I actually started crying... There's just something special about pets.

Anyway, enough about me already. I'm sending you lots and lots and lots of hugs and "cheer up thoughts". I know what it's like to lose a pet and you really didn't need this on top of everything else.

Big hugs,

Ulrika, IBS-D

Thanks everyone-I'm just "leaking" now instead of sobbing. I know this sounds selfish but haven't I been through enough already. If I had the energy I'd scream ENOUGH-HOW MUCH AM I EXPECTED TO ENDURE. My life has never been peaches and cream but I've always dealt and been relatively happy. But after losing 5 babies and being sick for so long and all the other bs, I've just had enough. I know people have it worse and I am thankful for the things I do have but can I please catch a break for a while??? Sorry, just need to vent....thanks for listening.

Michele,

I love kitties and I think I have more feelings for animals than people sometimes.

With all you're going through, I'm so sorry for you and Will. Your kitty looks like mine, and it made me cry. How awful that you saw everything.

I just can't get the image of the accident out of my mind. Luckily, she didn't suffer long, only a minute or two but my poor baby, she didn't deserve that. If I didn't have my boys with me (and some really good pharmecutials ) I don't know how I would have made it through the day. Its about 3:20 right now, I'm waiting on one patient who should be here before 5, than I'm going home to be with Will. Chloe was a daddys girl and it broke my heart seeing him crying. I guess it was better for me to have to see it than him. Why do these things have to happen at all though, she was only 5.5.

Here's a cute picture of Will with Chloe last winter

Its also my other kitty, Big Boy, birthday today, he is turning 5. I think I'll stop on my way home and get him some fresh catnip.

Heres a picture of Big Boy, he loves to hve his belly rubbed.

Sending hugs and love your way. Our Mr. Pumpkin a big orange stray that appeared two years ago October also insists on going out despite our efforts to keep him in. We even got him his very own girl kitty (who does not go outside) but he moped so inside we finally relented. I hold my breath when he crosses the street.

Losing a cherished pet is never easy. I hope that soon fond memories will ease the heartbreak you now feel.

I'm so sad to hear this! Did the car that hit her stop? Poor Sissy. I'm sorry you had to lose her in such a way.

At least she had you and Will and was able to lead happy life. How is your other cat doing? Does he notice she's gone?

Big hugs, Michele.

The guy didn't stop at first but as we were walking back to our house with her, he did pullback around and apologize. It really wasn't his fault, he was going a bit too fast but she ran out right in front of him. He seemed truly sorry but I couldn't say too much to him at the time. I thought it was nice that he came back though.

Big Boy has been walking around meowing, like he is calling for her. I'm sure he misses her as well. I kept waiting for her to come bounding across the yard this morning when I took Oliver out, the dogs even seem to miss her even though she was never very nice to them.

It just so sad. I'm trying not to cry and remember her in her happy times. Its amazing how attached we get to our little critters. I can't imagine what people go through when they lose a "real" child.

We went to bed early last night and left the windows open. It was nice and cool this morning and it was raining pretty hard and I always love the sound of the rain. Will and I cuddled with the two dogs and big boy and it was nice. We lingered in bed a little longer than we should have but I still made it to work on time.

I'm going to go to the garden nursery this weekend and see if they have any garden stones left. I found a cute kitty shaped one when Coco kitty died, hopefully I can find something equally as nice to mark Sissy's resting place in my garden.

Thanks for all the love and hugs, they are much appreciated.

I second that...you definitely are NOT being selfish. I went through a very rough 4 years...I never thought things would improve! It really is amazing what gets thrown at you and how much the human spirit can endure. Just keep asking the universe to bring you good things, continue being a kind soul, and I am certain things will change...You are loved!

I forgot to pass this along--I was card shopping yesterday, and thought of you and your kitty. It's a quote from Kahlil Gibran: "When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful again in your heart, you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."
I hope this helps in some way...
