Well, I went to that wedding this weekend. Had a great time. Pictures to follow tomorrow, I brought the camera to download the pictures but I forgot the cord! Duh!

Anyways, the groom of all people stepped on the top of my foot. It hurt like heck but I was pretty boozed up, luckily! I figured yesterday after looking at it that it was broke as I can't move two toes and its black and blue and hurts. I had an appt scheduled this am with the rheumy and he x-rayed it and confirmed the second metatarsal on the top of my foot is cracked. My bones are thin and brittle from the RA. He didn't put it in a cast because I've had the RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy) before and he said if he casts it, I'll probably get it again so, I'm hobbling around at work without any shoes on! Luckily, I had my toe nails done for the wedding, so at least my toes are cute! Gotta look for the positive!

As far as the RA goes, going to increase the Imuran, stay on the Ebrel injections and placquenil and he is having me stay on 5mg of prednisone (a steroid) for at least another month. He thinks at 5mg, I might be able to avoid the moon face, hump back, acne, excessive facial hair growth, glaucoma, and osteoporosis that go along with the steroids however he said to watch my weight closely because even at 5mg, people tend to gain weight, a LOT of weight. Wonderful, well, if I have to choose between fat and being in pain and not being able to move, I guess being fat is better.

Oh my goodness girl.... that just sucks... will you be able to wear sandles maybe? You poor thing!! Good thing there is not such thing as left and right footed... that makes it easier...LOL

Can't wait to see the wedding pics... any of you nice and drunk (as when the foot thing happened)? LOL

Most of the pictures I took with my camera, so not oo many of me drunk but I'm sure other people have a few good ones me "self medicated!"

Part of my wedding present to her was to make her a scrapbook so I'm trying to call a few other people who were taking pictures and get as many prints as I can! Since gaining so much weight, I'm not found of actually being IN the picture, I prefer to take them!

Didn't you break your foot/ankle last year too?
you poor honey. I love the way you look on the brightside though...cute toenails..excellent.
Mind yourself. When I broke my big toe they didn't put it in a cast but gave me a protective shoe thing to wear, really ugly but it gave me a lot of support, could you get something like that to protect it?

I severly sprained my left ankle falling down the stairs on our back porch in October of 2004. That is what developed into the RSD! Didn't walk for three months!

This is the top of my other foot! I found this on google, its not my foot and it is showing the right foot instead of the left and I broke the second one, not the third but otherwise, its the same!

I find when I read your posts that sometimes I stop and ask myself, how can so many things go wrong for such a nice person?? Seriously, what is your deal!?

Well I'm glad that you had such a nice time at the wedding, but how bizarre to end up with a broken foot. I remember the horrible pain from breaking just my little pinky toe twice from dance - there's really nothing to do for it and it hurts like the dickens!

We made need to think about constructing some sort of protective bubble for you...at least you'd have a safety zone of about a 3 foot radius...

Hope you feel better soon!!
