Plus I ahven't wanted to be a downer and I feel like all I've done in the last month is whine.

Yesterday I worked my second Starbucks shift, which went very well. After that we took our daughter to see Dora Live-which she loved. We got along great. After that,I went out on the town to watch the hockey game. I don't think I ahve a voice. We actually have a chance at the stanley Cup this year! I'm sooo excited.

I tripped and fell UP some stairs last night (twice, I'm a rat in a maze) and seriously bruised myself. LOL, two men were immediately there to rescue me. One said he'd stand sentinel for me for when I go back down them, and another said this line: "I'll give you my number and the next time you want to go up the stairs, you call me and I'll escort you up." Cheesy but nice because he had no idea how much I needed that.

Anyhow, DXH called last night and informed me on my voicemail that he was staying here last night. I never did see him and was too half-corked last night to think to call him back. The night before last he showed up to sleep here too-came in at 4 AM and scared the crap out of me, as he has been at his mom's for a week or so and is supposed to be staying there. Hmm, can't take the heat at mommy's?

Anyhow, he slept in Kay's bed so I haven't had to confront him but that's pushin it, Mister. I cannot wait till he has a place of his own and then our poor daughter won't be so confused.

It's lots of fun this time of year for me. I ahve been busy too, but get itchy and bleary this time of year and am not the best at concentrating on a keyboard.

Double J, i really am going to reply to your e-mail. I think I've been off in la-la land because I've read each one. I think because I usually keep such a tidy Inbox, and there's a good 25 e-mails that I read over and over right now, I'm overwhelmed with who i ahve to reply to! . Only one solution-time to go clean it out and put it in a new folder.

I have the Stanley Cup game to watch tonight, and the sun is shining for the first time in weeks, so that's a HUGE mood lifter.

Carolina were outstanding - I watched it here, even though it was in the stupid hours of the early morning over here (2am ish), and it was great. Didn't want Carolina to win tho!!

I'm a MASSIVE hockey fan - it's not as big here in the UK as it is over there, definitely a minority sport, but I've been going for probably 12 years and love it. Have had a season ticket at the Sheffield Steelers (kind of the Man Utd of the ice hockey world - won everything for many many years, up until we got a bit pants 3 years ago, though we did win a trophy last season and get to our own playoff final ), except cause of tum barely saw a game last season.

Sob - not had a season ticket this year 'cause of moving down here with Jamie, absolutely gutted. Wouldn't have had one anyway, waste of money when your stomach stops you attending most games...

I guess I could go see our local team, the Nottingham Panthers, but they're the Steelers number 1 rival so I'd have to cheer the opposition...

CBC did a documentary on how uncool hockey is in I think, Ireland? Just not huge. but hey, I'm a rugby fan, so it evens out, lol.

here in canada, we're about 300 times as fond of hockey as (soccer) football. I can't really get into it even though my cousin played in the canada under 19 women's games about 5 years ago. Go figure.

We don't have icehockey in the republic of Ireland, I think there might be some in the North alright. Field Hockey is popular for schoolgirls and there are many women's teams. Mens' hockey is (i think) considered a bit girlie.

The most popular games here are: (in order of my preference as opposed to popularity, soccer is more popular than rugby I think)

Hurling: A gaelic game, a faster, more exciting, more dangerous version of field hockey, artistic, the fastest field game in the world, my favourite sport by far. Women's hurling is called camogie.

Gaelic Football- The Irish version of soccer, played on the same field as hurling is, think soccer meets rugby. Brilliant game. Love it.

Rugby

Soccer

My team are in a final in hurling and a semi-final in football next weekend and they are being played one after the other in the national gaelic games stadium, Croke Park, it seats 80,000, fabulous facility. I can't wait!
