does your ibs pain get worse right before your monthly? is that normal? ive been having so much pain today and feeling nauseous (did i spell that right??) and its mostly on my right side but bad pain all over..crampy type pain, so im just wondering if its normal for the pain to be worse? ive seen something like this posted somewhere before and i cant find it.

I'm always worse around my period and it sucks. The severity varies but I can always count on having some sort of discomfort. I've found that exercise helps and being proactive. I eat safe foods and take Imodium before I start. That usually keeps it under control. I think other posts have been started under "Hormones" in this board or the Diet board.

YES DEFINATELY! Mine is so so bad the docs put me on the pill and trying to sort it out by controlling my hormones, I`m seeing a specialist for it too because they are so heavy. I drink lots of pepermint tea, take lots of leperomide (imodium) and I also take feminax (for period pains) oh and have a hot water bottle .
my ibs is ok -ish (touch wood) with only occasional attacks other than a few days before, after and during my period when its full blown, cramps, d etc...if the specialist ever sorts it out or affers me any advice I`ll be sure to let you know.
Hope thats some sort of help, watching films under your duvet helps too! Keep smiling huni.
