My daughter and I have been invited to go to the symphony Saturday. It has been so long since I have attended anything like that I have no idea what to wear.
Would a pantsuit suffice? cocktail dress? HELP!

I would probably wear a nice skirt, but a pant suit would work, too.

Hey!! Symphony dress varies from the extreme dressy to the extreme casual. If it is an afternoon performance, casual is fine. Evening...pantsuit is fine even then. Of course, a LOT of black, but then again, that looks artisitc! I have been able to go several times to performances during the past three years, and was always surprised at the variety of dress. As long as it's dressy....no worries!! ENJOY!!!

and I think my daughter and I will wear pantsuits...I need to take her a gift. She is in her 60's or 70's and she placed a child for adoption in the early 60's. We met at a monthly meeting for those in the adoption triad a few years ago and she just loves my daughter.
I was thinking pretty flowers or something...any ideas?

Where many people might say formal, I say be comfortable. I'm the type of person you'd see in jeans at the symphony. Pantsuits should be fine. And flowers always make a good gift. For me, they do, anyway.
