I thought this might be an interesting post, plus it will give me some ideas on what to snack on. What is everyone's favorite IBS-safe snack???

My favorite is easy - just a good banana.

hummus(without the tahini)-with veggies, pita bread whatever
peppermint fudge cake
crunchy lemon muffins
applesauce
pecans, almonds, cashews - these nuts don't bother me

I love to take a tablespoon and scoop a hunk of cashew butter and eat it. Not very filling but it works.

Hey... sometimes you just GOTTA eat your nut butter of choice from a spoon! I do the same with peanut butter which, thankfully, doesn't bother me.

I'm a snacker, so my list is endless.

Homemade low-fat cakes
Homemade low-fat cookies
bananas
turkey jerky
a hard-boiled egg (not safe for all, but I can handle it)
hummus on pita bread or crackers
small hummus and avocado sandwiches
small pb&j sandwiches
chocolate pudding (made w/ soy milk, of course!)
dry cereal - Honeycomb is my favorite
chex mix

As long as it's not too early in the day - ie, I've at least got breakfast in my system - I can snack on raw fruit without any SF with it. My favorites are grapes, apples, and strawberries.

I really miss beef jerky!! Is turkey jerky as good as beef jerky? Do you make your own, or buy it?

Ever try frozen bananas? I find its a good way to save the ones I don't eat before they turn brown, but then it makes a pretty nifty snack. You can cut it up and put choc syrup on for a sweet treat, or hold it with a paper towel and nibble on it. Or just throw it in a smoothie so you need less ice

Snacking...I love snacking. Heck, I just love to eat!

Some favorite snacks are:
a banana

carrot sticks (raw carrots don't bother me)

Natural apple sauce plain
Natural apple sauce with cinnammon I stir in myself

LF graham crackers

Soy yogurt (I get the little cups from Stoneyfield Farms)

Little Debbie angelfood snack cakes (may be hard to find, but I always see 'em at Woodman's).

Dry Malt-o-Meal Captain Crunch copycat cereal (unlike the "real thing" it doesn't have any dairy added).

I buy it in bags at Walmart. It's good... not as good as beef jerky, to me, because when I ate the beef stuff I always went for the HOT HOT HOT and so far, I've only found the turkey in one flavor... but it's better than no jerky at all! It's also got a better texture, not as tough, which is kind of a bonus.

...involved mashing up super-ripe bananas (food processor or blender would be best) with a bit of sugar and baking cocoa, and then freezing it. It was supposed to be a dairy-free substitute for ice cream. I don't know that it would fool anyone into thinking that, but it was still really tasty... would be good made into pops.

Have you tried this brand of turkey jerky? I bought some from our co-op when I was pg with Zoe and I loved it. They must have been the .5oz snack ones. Oh great, now I want some again. Thanks lol. I might have to see if I can find some at Walmart now.
