In Oct 2005 I had a partial hysterectomy, keeping my cervix. I also had several adhesions removed. I was still having a lot of lower tummy pain, so I had an colonoscoy done. He didn't see anything wrong so the doctor diagnosed me with IBS in Dec 2005. I went back to my gyno March 2006 with severe paid & he said that I might have Interstitial cystitis, which I am now being treated for. IC causes pain anywhere from the pelvic bone to the belly button. My gyno also did a laparoscopic surgery on me & took out a damaged cervic and ovary, & several adhesions (one large one attached to my bladder) which were all causing me severe pain (almost bed bound)(surgerys were 5 mos. apart). I still have some IBS problems, but I can manage it with changes in my diet. I never knew these things could cause IBS. Check out www.pelvicpain.com.
