I have the worst cold ever. I am coughing up things that looks like they came from smoker's lungs. My throat was sore for 3 days, now for 3 days I've been caughing up these awful balls of phlem. Aurg.
Just came in for some warm hugs. Physically, you don't want to get near me.
The kicker is I took a day off yday and came into work today at noon. I've got my meds all over my desk. Everything about me today sez: KEEP AWAY.
Pity me, plz.

Aw, that sucks! My hubby is just getting over what sounds to be the same creeping crude! Not sure how I escaped it but I did! Have BF make you some soup and put on your favorite pj's and watch something trashy on the boob tube! Virtual hugs but please, no physical contact! 
P.S. As far as coughing crap up, try Mucinex! Works great!

I had that a month or two ago. It didn't want to go away. Aren't you on antibiotics still? Maybe it will help it go away?

That stinks! Have you tried Mucinex? I really like it -- it's an expactorant, so it helps you keep getting that crap out of your lungs, but doesn't make me feel all loopy and cold-mediciney. Hot tea too! Feel better!

I was dozing in bed yday and remember watching a miriad of mucinex commercials!! It's like they were meant for meee!
I've never tried it, but having gone through a large bottle of Tylenol cold remedy in 2 days, I'll try anything new now. I bought some Robitussin CF at the gas station, and have taken a swig. Otherwise I'm on benedtryl, Comtrex cold and Sinus Nighttime, vics and codiene. 
Must... make it ... through... my day!

ZAP! Just sent you a bolt of energy to make it a while longer anyway!  I'm a big fan of NyQuil when I'm really sick, vile tasting stuff it is, it usually does the trick and helps me sleep! Mucinex is great to get the crude out and it won't make you tired so if you have to function, its a good choice!

Lots of feel better hugs! Colds suck!
Not sick sick today, but I'm home nursing a sore arm since I had a physical yesterday and the doc at student health recommended a pneumonia vaccine due to my adrenal gland problems. Of course, it's an intramuscular vaccine. Stupid shots.
Feel better soon, chica! What's the countdown to the trip to Thailand? Are you coming up my way anytime soon?

I overdid it on the Robitussin, I think. I've never taken it before but I think it's made my head spin.
I am a mess.
I have 2 bottles of Sprite and 2 large bottles of (near empty) water on my desk. And many tissues. People see this and cringe. Good, exactly what I was going for, heh heh.
I want to pull up my gel mouse pad and go to sleep on it. Mmmmm, fluffy mouse pad. Must stay.... awak ...zzzzzzzzz...!

Got BF to drive me home. I wolfed down some chicken and the room slowed down a tad, but not entirely.

Sorry to hear that you are so sick Nelly Hope you feel better soon. Is it possible that the room spinning might just be from being really over congested and not from the Robitusson? Just a thought. I can sympathize with you there, I'm a dizzy mess thanks to a stupid inner-ear infection or something...my left eye is going to, getting all swollen and red. Yuck, I hope this isn't the start of something.

I know just how you feel. It sucks! I'm just getting over something similar. The best thing for the sore throat is to gargle with warm salt water and I found that eating something salty helped. Also hot chicken noodle soup is soothing. Cloriseptic spray is a temporary fix.
The best thing for the cough is an expectorant. It's really good to cough up that phlem. You don't want it lurking around in your chest. Honey lemon cough drops are good, too.
I ended up going to the clinic and getting some antibiotics.
They said I had an upper respiratory infection.

Hope you get better soon. I love the fact that you set up your desk to keep people away. A good hawking sound really sends them to the next room.
I wish I had a remedy for you, but aside from slippery elm tea (YUCK) I don't know what to tell you.
