At the printer this morning, a woman I don't work with but see often and say hi in passing to, came up and said "Are you expecting?" with a big smile. I said yes! She said she thought so yesterday but was afraid to ask. I told her in the last week or show I really started showing more. She was SO sweet about it. I don't mind strangers asking me when they are nice!
So here is a pic: it's not the best one, in fact today I look even more pregnant, but it's a start! I'm just about 18 weeks today.

I didn't realize that you could show so soon! Oops, no, 18 weeks ... that's like four months, so that isn't soon at all. You look great! Are you doing any nursery decorating yet?

Your blouse is so cute! I think it's great that they actually have cute maternity clothes these days. I don't know why in the past they figured that if you were pregnant you only wanted to wear clothing slightly more attractive than the average potato sack.

Well, I'm starting to rearrange the spare room that will be the nursery, but major change won't happen until the basement is done. So I put all my effort into convincing my husband to get moving! But we won't need to do much---the walls are already light purple with white trim, and my furniture is white, some of which I will keep in there. So actually we just have to buy what we need.
They do have a lot of great maternity clothes. Not only that, places like H&M and Old Navy have all sorts of regular clothes that are loose fitting around the belly that work perfectly. I'm wearing a top just like the one in my pic today with stripes that is from H&M and not maternity. So it's easy to find shirts.

You look so cute but I look as big as you already and I am somewhere between 6 weeks 5 days and 8 weeks 5 days! I think the first is probably more accurate but who know. I actually noticed people immediatly look at my belly as soon as I say we are expecting. I showed my sister on Sunday and her eyes popped out of her head and she has 4 kids too. I wonder if I will be in trouble lol.

if you figure out how to convince husbands to get moving on home remodeling projects, let me know. ha ha. so if you have a boy, are you going to still want the purple walls? Or did you announce that you're having a girl and I missed it?

I can't figure out what H&M is?

H&M is a cheap "trendy" clothing store. It's not the super highest quality, but if you're selective they have good stuff. I think it's actually a European store, but they have them in the Chicago area too.
No, we don't know what we're having, and if I do have a boy and he's going to be in the room for a long time, we'll probably change the walls. But otherwise we figure, babies don't really care what color the walls are, and we're not even sure how long we'll be in our house or if we'll do any remodeling, so it's not worth the time and money now. But yes, having a girl would be convenient!

Well, I've heard after you've already had kids, you start showing a lot sooner, so don't worry!! I actually was feeling big this weekend, but at a wedding I met a girl my age with her first baby, about my size non-pregnant, who I thought was surely a month from her due date. turns out she's due only 1 month ahead of me! So I guess everyone is different!
