I heard about it a week or so ago when I was getting a pedicure...it sounds interesting to say the least. I am debating trying it...wondering what other folks thoughts are.

let me know if you choose to do it...I've always wanted to tryI've heard opposing views as some say it's a hoax or whatever. I ahve CONSTANT insane itching in my ears and I've done every strange thing IMAGINABLE to try and make it stop, but it's plagued me for years. To ahve it go away would be incredible.

is this why you're looking into it, rachel? Let me know!1

I found this site on it. I know that it is only one site and that others have different opinions but the risk of burning wax in my ear is enough for me to not try it. Just curious, what did you hear about it?

I have tried putting a couple drops of baby oil in my ears as my doctor told me to. Helps the itching go away and it's completely harmless.

I've heard of some people permanently damaging their ear drum because the ear candling wasn't done properly.

as my allergies have changed since we moved all 11 miles from our last home. The pressure in my ears is intense and I just happened to hear about it when my friend and I went to get our nails done. It intrigued me as I have pressure in my right ear and it is uncomfortable in the mornings until I am up for a while and the congestion "goes somewhere".

I have decided to go to the doctor first...have him/her look at my ears and then go from there. I would rather have it done in a doctors office than a nail salon!

Had family with severe chronic health problems that candled and a bunch of other hokey things...wasted a LOT of money and got NO results!

It was all the rage ages ago but it's not exactly safe. It takes all the good stuff out of your ears and that's a bad thing. I wou;dn't do it if I were you.

It always looked interesting to me. It's the smoke that goes in your ear, not the wax.
I have the dreaded ear itch also. Drives me insane. Since this sinus thing my ear squeaks when I blow my nose. My roomy thought it was my nose making the noise. It feels so weird. I am going to try the baby oil.

They used to offer it at my chiropractors office. I've never known anyone personally who had it done though. The thought of anything in my ear though really creeps me out!

It makes me cuckoo and gets worse in spring time. I've even tried using vibrations from a massager to make the itching stop. It worked for 10 seconds, but came back just as bad.

I've been putting lotion on Q tips and putting that in my ear recently-last 6 months....it works OK but nothing takes it away, ya know??

... and they both say they wouldn't do it again.
I always thought I would like to try it as well, but they both didn't like it at all.
My best friend did it because her ear was all plugged up, and she didn't find any relief afterwards AND for like 2 weeks - a month she had this black stuff coming out of her ears. It wasn't very nice.
My sister's mom said the same thing, that she thought she'd feel better but she actually felt her ears were more uncomfortable after she'd had it done and she had the same thing with weeks of this nasty stuff lingering around in her ears.

I will definitely not be trying it, even though at one point I thought it sounded great!

My doctor told my Dad to heat up a little bit of olive oil and put that in his ear when it was bothering him... It didn't end up working so he went to a clinic and they used some water thing to sloosh (??) it out, but it's worth a try!

Cheers!

Don't do this. I did and ended up with some ear issues afterward! I started getting ear aches and a infection. YUCK!!!
