HI all,
I'm new to the group. I have IBS and Fibromyalgia. I'm on several meds, for both and just started the tummy teas and Acacia. Any suggestions for either problem? I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Lora! Welcome!

I have IBS and fibro too. I've been going up to PA for treatments every 2 weeks to the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue center in King of Prussia, PA, and they've been really great. I was only diangosed with fibro recently, but have been having symptoms since I was 7, the same time I started having problems with IBS.

What are you taking for IBS? Mine is IBS-D, pain-predominant, so I've been on long-term pain therapy, plus donatal, loperamide, hyoscysamine (sp?), and simethicone. The codiene I take really cuts down on my attacks too.

For fibro I sake soma, baclofen, and amatryptaline (though only sparingly because I don't tolerate the effects well). I also take vicodin for break-through pain. I'm on a lot of supplements too (A LOT)! What I noticed helps the most is Energy Extract and Calcium+D 1800mgs.

Glad to have you here!

I have IBS D and Fibro. Heather's diet and a good fiber supplement have done wonders for my IBS. The fibro part I am still trying to figure out, the fatigue part is my worst problem with aches coming in second.

There are several other fibromites on here besides myself, you are in good company. Welcome!

I just want to say hi and welcome! For the IBS I recommend following Heather's Diet (please make sure you get enough water and enough insoluble fiber with your soluble fiber...sounds like you're on the right track already!) For the fibro I stay away from sugar and I go to a pain specialist.

It's great to have you here! If you have more specific questions or just want to hang out with a great bunch...you found a really special place to be
