thanks for the info.
I know that they say that BC shouldn't effect anything, and I do believe that, however, it does scare me a little that they've only made that distinction in the last five years. I mean how can they really know?!? I'm still torn about what to do.
I've been toying with the decision for awhile. Sometimes I think I might as well stay on it bc it works for me, but other times I think, why stay on it when I dont' actually need it.

Ashley, I'd go off just to see if you DO have problems. I know that sounds weird, but my reproductive system basically went to hell once I went off BC for good and that was when I was FINALLY diagnosed with endometriosis (after everyone telling me I had IBS and just needed to take anti-depressants and I would be OK). The bad part -- besides the endometriosis part -- is that I went off BC because my husband and I wanted to have kids. And obviously that's not happening right now. IF everything goes well (and that's a big IF), we'll probably be given the OK to start trying in June. Even then, who knows how long it will take or if it will even happen?
Moral of the story is that I'd probably give it six months or so off and see how you do. It would be nice to know if you have problems now, rather than down the road when you and that hot Navy guy decide to start breeding. I did go off BC the summer of 04, which is when I started having the really bad bowel problems, but I didn't give it long enough (2-3 months?) before I went back on.
Oh, and I've seen a couple studies that say it's a myth that you gain weight on BC. I personally never had any weight fluctuation except for gaining about 10 lbs when I went on Depo (the shot) -- I craved sugar all the time and ate huge amounts of Skittles. I dropped the weight within a couple months of switching from the shot to the patch.

I gained 10 lbs (or more) from my birth control. A friend of mine went off hers and she said that she literally lost 10 lbs super fast.
Tough decision.
